Have OBD codes P2A00, P0441, P0442, P0446 on my 2003 Highlander. Selling the car in a few months. Does this really need to be repaired before trade-in? Can I just erase the codes?

CODE P2AOO - A / F SENSOR CIRCUIT SLOW RESPONSE.MOST OF YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE THE AIR FUEL SENSOR WHICH IS LIKE THE OXYGEN SENSOR. IT COULD BE GOING BAD.CAUSING PROBLEMS. MOST OF YOUR TROUBLE COMING FROM THE EVAP EMISSION CONTROL AND AIR FUEL SENSOR. YOU NEED TO TAKE TO A GARAGE OR DEALERSHIP LET THEM CHECK IT OUT. YOU COULD NEED EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND AIR FUEL SENSOR. NO REASON BUY NEW VECHICLE. FEW NEW PARTS CHEAPER THAN A PAYINGON A CAR NOTE.IF YOUR CAR STAY IN THE SHOP TOO MUCH BREAK DOWN ALL THE TIME THEN YOU NEED A NEW RIDE.

I just had a scan done on my 2000 grand am 2.4 engine it had a code po442 where is this located on the car and I heard gas tank needs dropped to replace

I heard gas tank needs dropped to replace ???? You should never listen to what you heard from someone who has no clue ! P0442 is a small leak DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected. You really should take it to a qualified repair shop .

EVAP Leaks P0442 and P0455

The evaporative emission system is tested by applying vacuum to the EVAP system and monitoring for a vacuum decay. The PCM monitors the vacuum level through the fuel tank pressure sensor signal. At an appropriate time, the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve and the EVAP vent solenoid are turned on, allowing the engine to draw a small vacuum on the entire evaporative emission system. Once the desired vacuum level has been achieved, the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve turns off, sealing the system. A small leak in the system will cause DTC P0442 to set.

How to fix whatever caused the codes P0441, P0442,P0446

Check and make sure your gas cap is screwed on tightly. Then, check the vacuum lines are attached correctly and not leaking. I would bet one of the hoses came off or you have a hole in one or more. The hoses split with age. Start with these, before changing sensors or solenoids.

Have codes P0441, P0442, and P0446. What could be the problem?

this obd2 trouble code table can help you understand the meaning of code.
and for p0441, you can try:
Repair damaged EVAP lines or canister.

Repair open or short in voltage feed circuit to Purge Solenoid.

Repair open in PCM purge command circuit.

Replace purge Solenoid.

Replace vacuum switch.

Repair restriction in Evap line or canister or soleniod.

Repair resistance in purge connector.

Replace PCM.

for p0442

Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.

Otherwise, replace the gas cap, or

Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses.

Codes P0441, 42, &55

Honestly I think the best bet with those EVAP codes is to pay for the smoke test. It will find teeny tiny leaks in the system and will save time. If you just start replacing parts you are totally guessing.

Sorry but that's the really the best option. To help inform you before you go, check out the following resources - P0441, P0442, P0455
