I hadnt used my car for 2 days went out to start it and it wont turn over, cleaned the termials and connection start wont turn over. I have dash lights and head lights and all. But wont start. The locks keep clicking and when I put on the lights it made a funny noise. Has anyone had this problem with their car??

  • DudeMurray Oct 13, 2011

Yes, my locks are clicking too. Put in a new starter but that didn't help. The only way to start car is to tap the outside of the starter with a hammer while someone inside turns the ignition switch on..

What year is your camry? on some year camry's, you need to turn the head light switch to the "on" position then turn the key.

Have electrical issues on a 2004 mazda 3.

I would check every single fuse in the car. Blown fuses can cause weird issues like this. While the initial issue with the mechanic does sound like an alarm problem....the rest does not unless the shop that installed it really butchered the job.

2001 FORD TAURUS WONT START AND THEFT LIGHT IS BLINKING AND MAKING A CLICKING NOISE

If you have a alarm fob, press the door open button. If the fob isn't working, change the battery in it. If you don't have a fob...well...your troubles start there...need to have dealer reprogram a new fob and use it.

2001 LINCOLN LS WILL CRANK BUT WONT START EVERYTHING IS WORKING FUEL PUMP IS NOT GETTING POWER TO IT FUEL PUMP WORKS FINE ALL FUSES GOOD ALARM LIGHT ON DASH FLASHES WHEN TRYING TO START

If the alarm light is blinking, then the issue could be with the vehicle immobilizer or key. The key may need rematching to the vehicle's ECU, which will need reprograming by the manufacturer service centre.

Security light flash no security system on truck

sometimes turning the ignition on 3 times quickly without starting will reset the computer. If the van has power locks and keyless entry then try using only the keyless entry. Sometimes your car wont have a alarm but an anti theft device which will not allow it to start if it goes off or something triggers it.

Car alarm stopped working.. Car wont start

the jetta has a faulty alarm system from the factory i have been working on one in my shop. the alarm moddule is inside the dash behind the light switch and has a 10 pin connector and a 6 pin connector. this can be bypassed if you disconnect both connectors and jump the two large wire on the 6 pin connectors, these wires operate your starter. the car will start and run but your alarm will no longer be active. the door locks and everthing else will still work. the only issue i am having is the factory radio isn't working because it is controlled by the alarm. but worse case scenario i can use an aftermarket radio if need be.
