2007 Yaris, airbag light on dash on, passenger airbag light "OFF" stays on regardless of anything in seat. Was told this was a common problem, probably a sensor, costing $750 to replace. This is safety issue and if it is so common why isn't Toyota issuing recalls for this potentially "fatal" problem instead of friggin floor mats. This seems appropriate for a "Class Action Lawsuit".

Typical american i assume here ,sue everybody in sight ?? Well the fault is most likely caused by the connector block under the front seats ,make sure their is no rubbish under the front seats and then disconnect the connector and clean the contact pins with a soft B black lead pencil and then try that ,if that doesnt work then remove the seat and clean the pins in the connection on the pyrotechnic attachment at the bottom of the seat belt anchor .This is around 60% or so all the faults i get associated with airbag lights ,dirty connections under the seat or empty coke cans and water bottles pulling the plugs out

I received a recall letter from Toyota about a month ago. The problem is a cable breaking in the steering column. Toyota will fix it free.

Airbag light stays

The light comes on to indicate that the passenger side airbag is disabled. This occurs when there is weight, but less than 60 pounds on the passengers seat. Removal of the weight should cause the light to go back out.

Passenger airbag light is on, saying the "passenger airbag is off". It stays on all the time. There are no passengers or weight of any kind in the seat. The light even stays on when someone is...

Don't know what year model car you have. Some year models have a switch you can turn the passenger air bag off. Check you owners manual in the dash/controls section and the air bag section

2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition - when turn key on message flashes across top center of dash "passenger airbag off". How do I turn it ON?

most of these new day pass air bags are in the off possition untill weight is applied to pass seat. Sit in pass seat and start vehicle and see if this activates the air bag on.

I have a 2007 dodge caliber and the airbag lights on the dash stay on all the time. how do i fix that?

You will have to check the fuse. It could either not be in all the way or be bad. It could also be a part called the clock spring. I would start with checking the fuses first. You aren't refering to the passenger airbag light i suppose right? If so, that has a weight sensor for under 80 lbs, if you have something in the seat it can trigger the light. If you are referring to the driver airbag then try the mentioned solutions. thanks

Srs warning light on

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat

(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity2_bing.gif problem.

I DO NOT disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s)

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

The airbag light in dash staying on in my 2004

Under driver and passenger seats are wires that go to seat belt anchors. These are tensioner wires.Unplug the wires from the plug under the seat.clean and replace.Doing this while the ignition is turned off. Then turn ignition back on.In 90% of the time this is your problem.Constant movement of seat causes this or rear passengers kicking plugs off.Good luck phil.
