You have to recharge for the most part .What a lot of people don't know is that over time it is normal for some leakage and that in a good portion of these no other service is needed.Thank you for your questions.

dont worry just try to wash the engine radiator and the ac radiator fins with high pressure water. probably insects got stuck in the holes reducing air flow thus heating the car and tripping the air conditioner.
if air mixes with gas the the ac will not work more than few minutes as the moisture trapped inside will block the capillary tube. no way

Looking for ac fuse

there is an AC clutch relay located in the under hood fuse box. This part seems to go bad frequently. $11 at rockauto.com. The relay is marked MG/CLT. This controls the clutch that activates the compressor
