When you run a vehicle out gf fuel , you sometimes have alot of dust or rust that collects at the tank bottom ,and as a result of running out of fuel you allowed the fuel pump to **** the junk up off the bottom , and in doing so you most likely stopped up your fuel filter ... but to be sure ,your pump is working , if it is an in tank pump , take a 3 foot length of water hose , open filler cap insert about 1 foot into spout, put outside end of hose to your ear ,then have a friend to turn swith on CAREFUL thow dont turn engine over , just turn switch to on, the reason you need help with this is , because the pump will only be on a second or 2 before the line presurises and the regullater will turn pump off . anyway if you do all this and you hear the pump come on then go off again . change your filter and this should fix you up . PS it would help to add a couple more gallons of fuel before you do this just so if anything is stuck to the bottom of internal pump filter ,should help to wash it off. /////////// good luck my friend
Sounds like when you ran out of gas, you clogged your fuel filter. Change your fuel filter and put a little bit more gas in it and she should fire right up. Hope this helps, James Booth. :)
