Can I replace a set of headlights on a Hyundai Coupe 2003 model with the new headlights from a 2007 model. The two head lights look quite similar in shape but are not exactly the same, the newer ones look more rounded. Are the screw location points in the same place. I have been told they are different but to me it looks like it is possible to swap them over all the same.

try moving the ends of the tie rod. there should be a metal sticking out of the rubber ball like part at the end. A worn out tie rod would be easily moved with bear hands while a new one will take some muscle.

SOURCE: Adjust Headlights Horizontally in Hyundai Sonata 2002

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

Go to Hyundai's web side and register your vehicle (by VIN number). Then you'll have access to shop manuals, wiring diagrams and Technical Service Bulletins.... Particularly, shop manuals... then you'll see how complete/incomplete they are.

My son's 2003 Hyundai Sonata signal lights and headlight do not flash and the head light doesn't go on. Flash just stay still.

The headlight problem most likely is a blown fuse. The turn signals not flashing is definitely the flasher unit under the dash near the steering column is burned out. Replace the fuse and the flasher and it will work for you.

Headlight bulbs: Burn out too often

I also having this problem with my Hyundai elite I20. My head light is also blew up 4 time in a year & finally gave my car to my nearest Hyundai dealer. They check out the problem and put my headlight for free as I was having warranty. Now my headlights are working good and hadn't replace the bulb since a year.
This was my experience, as you have Hyundai Sonata , either you should check out your nearest Hyundai dealer or here I am attaching you a video if you want to alone solve out this problem/issue of head light.

Need more room to install replacement street side head lamp.

If you are talking about the headlight. The headlight assembly slides forward out the front of the car. The cheap plastic locks break easily. Practice on the passenger side, it is easier to see and touch. I have a 2003, hope it is the same.
