I am having the same problem, but have noticed that if I turn the ignition off, shift down to D4, turn the ignition on and shift back into Park, most of the time D4 stops blinking and then the engine will start.

92 honda accord lx D4 flashes

you have a transmission fault the D4 light blinks to tell you that there is a transmission problem when the light is blinking the transmission computer put the transmission into limp home mode so it will not shift normally and you should try not to drive it very far when it gets to this stage you need to have the transmission codes check to pin point the problem

1992 honda accord. The gear shift will be in D 4 But the shifting lights for Park will come on and both lights will start blinking.

The d4 light will blink when there are codes in the tcu. You need to have the codes read on the transmission computer.

Where is the tcu in a 2002 honda accord

it is the Transmission Control Unit. you have to find the reason why the TCU is flashing the D4 fault code. not replace the unit. have your vehicle scanned for another code. your transmission or transaxle is giving you a warning that something is wrong .

Whats wrong?

D4 is an indicator that there are trouble codes stored.Trouble codes on that year Honda are pulled manually.Once the trouble codes are identified, there are diagnostic routes to follow to determine the problem.

92 Honda Accord

Blinking light means there is a trouble code. There is a procedure to manually pull codes from the computer.Have the codes checked, have them written down.It could be just shift solenoids,or could even be something more serious, but thats the starting point.
