Have toyota corolla g6r 1999 1.6 woz told had knock sensor problem and changed that but now the engine management light flashes 3 times then 1 time reapeating evrytime.... cannot be plugged into diagnosis as no port for it!!! woz show by my mechanic friend how to count the light flashes now just need to know wah the above flashes mean!!! can you help????

Please check:
- Knock sensor.
- Wiring from knock sensor to ECM.
- Combination meter.
- ECM.

You are definitely getting air into the system from somewhere. Look for wetness at all 4 wheels, around brake pipes and hoses and at the back of the master cylinder where it is bolted to the brake booster. You find where the fluid is getting out you find where the air is getting in.

Error code 3 3 - Idle Speed control ValveOpen or short in Idle Speed Control Valve (ISC). Replace ISC Valve

This is about your camshaft sensor diagnosing a problem.. The Code is saying the timing is over ******** on bank 1. You could have a bad cam sensor or if there is a knock sensor on both banks, the engine is trying to adjust to eliminate a knock on bank 1. Sometimes if there is an air leak in the intake manifold it also can allow extra air into the cylinders on bank 1. The extra air will register as a lean mix and the engine will try to compensate by retarding the spark to enrichen the fuel mix.

You can have the engine running and use a spray bottle of water and lightly mist the seams of the intake manifold. A change in RPM will prove there is a bad gasket or loose bolt on the intake manifold. Should you find this problem, work to repair this problem first.

Unlikely if it was not knocking or overheated.

It may have detected a misfire during start up. One symptom with the flashing light is say the more your car misfires, the more it'll flash

DTC 52 on a 93 Corolla is a Knock Sensor code. I replace the knock sensor; it is located on the side of the engine block, on the side of the engine that faces the firewall. It is in the center; under the intake manifold.

have your O2 sensor checked. They could both be bad
