I have a 1999 mercy grand marque, going to Chang the shocks. It ask if I having touring suspension? How do I tell if I do or not?

Probably the difference of regular shocks and air shocks. Look at the rear shocks, if you see a plastic line running to it, It is air. But you don't have to replace them with air, you can put regular ones on it.

Can I replace my air ride shocks on the back of my 96 explorer with regular shocks and do away with the air ride? I need new shocks and don't want to invest alot of money on an old car.

Yes, you can just put regular shocks on the back, just make sure you get shocks that have the same length as your original ones and that are from a explorer without air suspension. That way you wont have the back end of the car riding too low or bottoming out.

My rear air sespension has gone bad on my 1998 navigator and I can not afford a new air sespension since they quoted me over $1900 to fix. Can I just put regular shocks on the rear to fix the horrible sag?

Yes you can, But even better yet would be a set of air shocks on there. I had a 92 Grand Marquis that blew out the rear suspension, and I put reg shocks on there, worked great, looked normal, No problem. They wanted $2,000 to fix mine. I said later. But the air shocks, if you have a full load or a sagging problem, you can just get out the compressor and blow them up. Hope this helps.

Rear air shocks 1998 lincoln continental deflate when parked

My Grandma marquis did the same thing, I thought that was normal, it slowly goes down when you shut it off and slowly goes up when you start it, It didn't hit the ground or anything, but then it finally did die altogether, years later, and then it hit the ground, so I got regular shocks back there and it rode fine, stayed level, it is now resting in the junkyard in a shallow unmarked grave. It was a nice car.

Air suspension inop.

yes unless u want to change your air suspension to normal. i mean regular shock absorbers. usually the air lines break. or the air bags on the shocks leak air. if one is leaking the other one will never operate normally.

Rear Suspension on 1996 Cadillac Deville

you may want to buy regular heavy duty shocks and put on the car to raise the back up high enough to do what you are trying to do.
