Like most late model Chrysler products this car doesn't have an external "IN LINE" fuel filter, the filter is a very fine mess Nylon sock that goes over the inlet of the fuel pump inside the fuel tank, it is never serviced unless the fuel pump is replaced. This has been the norm since the late 90's. You can buy the strainer separately if you still desire to replace it. See picture below and part number.

  • For this model and year of vehicle the fuel filter is not on the rail of the undercarriage of the car as with most vehicles. The fuel filter is part of the fuel module inside the fuel pump. The way to change the fuel filter is to change the fuel pump itself.

Inline fuel filters are located under the frame directly below the drivers seat. There may also be an additional filter under the hood. Follow the fuel line over the backside of the engine approximately four inches below the top of the engine. Don't forget the in-the-tank filter which is a mesh sock attached to the fuel pump!

Inside of the fuel tank. Chrysler placed everything inside of the tank in one sending unit...the pump, pressure regulator, and filter all get changed together.

Could anybody tell me where the fuel filter is on a grand voyger 3.3 year 2000
its mounted to top of fuel tank , I just looked it up at auto zone library ,you can too ,it gives directions ,just go to AZ site log in and list your vehicle, and go to repair help then to fuel system. its all free and no spam . good luck.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring sedan?
Some of the Sebrings have two filters(one is called a sock).The sock(which all sebrings have) is located in the fuel tank itself on the pump module.If this model is the JXI then the external filter is located on the belly of the car between the tank and drivers rear seat. I hope I could help!!!

There is not inline fuel filter on a 2004 Sebring. The only filter on it is the one on the fuel pump and the only way to change that is to replace the fuel pump. $175 at autozone. Ridiculous I know!!

Hello, the answer to solve this problem is to take it to your nearest chrysler dealer and have them re-flash the updates to the ecu....since 2004, chrysler has had about 4-5 new updates since the date they were manufactured....you need to have the update that followed from your date of man. on your vehicle....They attempted to flash mine to the latest update and didnt work, turns out that they need the re-flash from back when...in order to get the gauage to stop fluctuating.....Hope this helps!!

I can't locate the fuel filter on my 2004 chrysler sebring 6 cyl coupe (3000).
I would check if it is in the gas tank on that model. you can go to your local parts store and they should be able to inform you of this.

Fuel filter Chrysler 300 crd ?
The question was for a 300 CRD (assuming the "D" is meaning diesel). In which case this is located directly on top of the engine, under the plastic cover right in the middle.

It's a standard service item to be replaced at ever service. Provided you have enough patience to get the 2 pipe clips back on securely the whole job takes about 20 minutes to do.

Changing fuel filter on 2004 chrysler town and country
  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Raise the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
    • Fuel line from the front of the tank
    • Ground strap
    • Inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T strap fastener and lower the tank about 6 inches
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module
    • Fuel filter
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel filter bolts to 40 inch lbs. (4.5 Nm), the main tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) and the T strap to 250 inch lbs. (28 Nm).
  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.
