Strip you wire, push the ends into the connector and crimp the connector with a special crimping tool designed for the connector. Heat the shrink sleeving with a heat gun and the joint is complete.

I have a 2009 cadillac CTS . Twice , onlyon rainy days , the passenger rear window went down by itself . The first time there was a blown fuse ,but not the second ime . Any ideas ?

Water (rain) is no doubt causing the switch or motor to short. Make sure that the door drains are not clogged. the drains are normally a set of two or three small rectangle slots near the bottom of the door, on the inside. If it persists check the wiring inside of the door. If you find any cuts or frays, use a marine grade heat shrink to fix the problem.

How to replace socket on Jeep Liberty front parking light

Hi UtahBeeMan, I'm glad to help! The new socket that you buy will have a pigtail wiring on it, this is so you can solder and heat-shrink that wiring to the vehicle wiring. I suggest you do 1 wire at a time so you don't get the wires crossed. Here what you do, If you bought the socket at the dealer it will come with heat-shrink in the package, if you don't have heat shrink you'll need to buy some at the auto parts store. TOOLs You'll Need: Soldering Gun, Heat Gun, wire stripper. NEXT: Cut one wire, CAUTION: Make certain you are connecting the proper wire by holding the new connector up to the vehicle connector and start with the wire that you just cut. NOW: Strip the wires, next slid the heat shrink on one side of the wire as far back from the heat as possible. NOW: Put the wires together and solder them by placing the heat gun directly on the wire and letting it heat up, after it heats up touch the solder between the tip of the gun and the wire itself, this will give a nice flow of the solder, while moving along the wire. After soldering, let the wire cool down before covering the exposed wire with the heat-shrink. Then slide the heat-shrink into place and use the heat-gun to heat the shrink until you see the insulator material inside come out of the ends, once that happens you are done, move on to the next wire. Hope this helps and have an awesome day!

How do I get the part where the plug for turn signal switch go thur this without cut and rewire it?

Take apart the tilt steering column, buy the small harness, and replace.
(Harness has turn signal switch, etc. on one end. Harness goes down the column, and plugs in; on the other end. Or cut wires, solder, and use heat shrink tubing. Slide heat shrink tubing up one wire BEFORE soldering. Slide down onto soldered connection of wire, heat ->heat shrink tubing )

Wires under hood chewed by rats

Don't know what you need

Open up the wire harness enough to be able to make a repair

You slide heat shrink tubing over the wire, add wire, any color
but the same wire size or gauge & solder them & then heat shrink

If only the plastic is chewed & no copper wire ,then seal with clear
nail polish & tape real tight with 3M hi temp electrical tape, home
depot has that
Then use the stretchy rubber tape to cover all repaired wires,
unless you like you heat shrink job.

You just match the wire colors & strips that isn't the question

Have the battery disconnected

In an 09 VW Rabbit I ran over a curb and severed the wires going to a sensor on the catalytic converter. Now a engine malfunction lamp comes on. What is the sensor and how to replace the wires.

The sensor is a O2 (oxygen) sensor and is needed for proper fuel mixture. It's best to take the vehicle to a mechanic and have him/her replace or splice the wires back together. It should be an inexpensive repair in general. If you damaged the sensor it may cost you up to $150 just for the sensor (depending on the sensor you choose).
And don't forget! It's at your discretion to leave a rating for my answer.

No power to Drivers Seat Pedals and Power Mirrors.

If you pull the driver's side door sill, you should find a splice ( 1 wire to 2 wires ) that is corroded.
Some what common, water gets into the door sill and cannot drain out, and the splices pay the price.
You will need to cut the splice apart, solder in a new piece of wire, and you will want to use marine heat shrink tubing on them.
This is the typical ( not only ) locations

Lost the power to drive side memory seats and mirrow's and also dvd player, fuses arent hte problem changed them out and the old ones were still good

Under the driver's side door sill there is a splice that is wrapped in something that looks like hockey tape.

Depending on the cab configuration, this is either towards the front driver's side kick panel ( by the hood latch ) or at the rear, where the wiring runs up the c-pillar.
The door sill plate is held on with 3 spring clips, use a plastic trim tool, or plastic putty knife, if you do not have the trim tool to remove it.

The splice you are looking for is in the bundle of wires that are tapped together shown above.
This is what the splice will look like ( the color can change, depending on the items not working, purple seems to be the most common )

It will take some time to find and check the splice, but it is an easy fix.
This is for a case where the fuses are fine, but there is no power at the connector for the item ( might notice the power mirrors do not work either )
When you fix the splice, use marine heat shrink after soldering in a piece of wire to extend the length of the run ( to provide room for the new splices ), the marine heat shrink has the water proofing gel that will seal the ends of the heat shrink tube, and not let water back into the splice.
