SOURCE: i have a 1999 gs mitsubishi eclipse my check
It appears that there might be a TSB (technical service bulletin) issued on this vehicle by Mitsubishi. Check with your local dealer to verify for certain. One link with brief summary of this on a 1998 model (yours might fall into this class too?) can be seen here and is as follows:
1998 Mitsubishi ECLIPSE 98 - Transmission TCM PCM > POWER TRAIN : AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION : CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM) [Part 103100 ]
TSB No: 01 NHTSA ID: 622435 , May 01, 2001 : Replacement:
Summary: subject regarding diagnostic trouble code p1390 pcm relearn.
A fuller discussion on a 1996 with this code can be seen here. Scroll down to the answer.
Perhaps these will provide a bit of information prior to contacting your dealer. I've never worked in a dealership that charged for looking up & providing info on TSB's. Good luck.
If this helps to solve your problem then please take a moment to rate this post. - Thanks.
SOURCE: how much oil to put in a 2007 eclipse gs coupe 4
You didn't say turbo or not but put in four and check it with the stick. You did'nt say if your changing the filter. you didn't say if this is a freash build ture empty or just coming in for regular service? Oil and filter 4 1/2 no filter and not ( dumped ) 4 but put in 4 and chack it and follow the stick. the turbo can take 5 and the startup procedure is different. Di ale the spark or fuel system and cranks the motor till the oil light goes out. You spin that turbo dry it'll blow and here we go $1000. It'll do it once if you change the oil with the car hot and get it all done in a few minutes and start it right away. Don't wait, not on a turbo. the other engines are more likly tosurvive but the longer any engine runs pumping air instead of oil is'nt good. Change it quick with it ha\ot and start it back and check for leaks than check level with the stick and add till it shows full .. Never changed your own oil? Get a friend that has to be there with you mistakes can be very expensive. That car $4000. Sure change your own oil and take it to the recycleing center, and know that you did it right. The best oil cost the most and the most expensive ones from all makers are very good and maybe better than you need
