My Ford had a modulator valve that malfunctioned and it caused the transmission oil to be burnt and smoked through the exhaust. Once the modulator valve was change I had no problem. Am not sure if your car has one.

Spark plug gap does not effect the engine timing so it's not that critical. Thirty 5 (.035) should work just fine.
Otherwise consult a service manual fro your model or call a Mitsubishi service centre

do they make this vehicle as a petrol version ?? i have just been working on one all day and its a diesel ,never seen a petrol variant of this vehicle and didnt know they made one only diesel manuals ,and one diesel automatic i have seen

My Mazda is a 3.0L V6 Year 2005 Grand Touring not 2003.
What I was looking for is if I could buy a Worskhop Manual, printed or on DVD.
The car is in good shape even for 128000 miles because I take good care of it.
The Workshop Manual is meant for future maintenance.

The manuals for the 1997 and the 1999 are not the same but they are similar. Some of the wires are different colors in their wiring diagrams, but other important things like computer codes will be the same, which will help with troubleshooting. Have you checked ebay for the correct manual lately. They often have used manuals there for good prices. There are also websites that sell online access to copies of the manuals for most all cars for their fee. But their fee is usually more than what you can obtain the correct manual for on eBay, so I would take that option.
