1997 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 p0758 Won't shift

Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve
- 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve harness or connectors
- 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve circuit is open or shorted
What does this mean? When is the code detected?
When the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) valve circuit, then DTC P0758 sets.
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Transmission will not shift gears
P0758 Chevrolet Description
The 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) valve controls the fluid flow acting on the 2-3 shift valves. The 2-3 SS valve is a normally-open exhaust valve that is used with the 1-2 SS valve in order to allow four different shifting combinations. The solenoid attaches to the control valve body within the transmission. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the solenoid by providing the ground path.

I think you have no power to transmission on terminal E
pink wire because it a common problems fuse trans 10amp blown or wire pink cut

Likely one of your Speed Sensors (VSS) is bad. Sorry I don't know WHERE these are located, but get on some of the Chevy Truck forums for answers.

Since the transfer case is shifted via an electric motor there is not provision for mechanical linkage and I show not type of kit to convert the later cases.

on the 1999 silverado the transfer case has an actuator motor to engage from high to low range ,for 4wd there is an actuator motor on the front axle, had same problem in my 98 changed and works perfect

P0758 Shift Solenoid B Electrical---it's inside of the transmission, you should be able to get the problem taken care of without removing the transmission.

that is a shift solenoid B electrical. on side of trans you will find a plug unplug it then test drive vech. [should run norm]. sounds like convert is hanging up try that. had trouble with my olds ran trans unplug for 2 years beforr got rid of had no trouble

i'd say go with what your owners manual recommends for best durability.

P0740 is TCC circuit malfunction P0753 is shift solenoid A circuit electrical P0758 is shift solenoid B P1406 is EGR pintle position and P01860 is TCC circuit.
