My son bought a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS, V-8, in January with 97,000 miles. He has put less than 1000 miles on it. It is running very roughly, blowing white smoke, and leaking water from the muffler. My husband thinks it is a cracked head. What do you think?

This sounds like it is either the head or head gasket, have it checked out before it gets too bad to repair.

I have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 2 wheel drive 5.3. It was running rough i took it to advance auto parts they put it on the machine it said idel control senser, throttle control senser, mass air flow...

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Spray carb/throttle body cleaner at all fuel and air intake areas ie; intake manifold to heads, throttle body to intake, all vacuum hoses, etc. Work the throttle to keep it running or have someone inside doing it. You will know if the carb cleaner gets sucked in somewhere. That will be the location of your vacuum leak.

My 1999 chevy silverado is cutting out and dying. i've changed the fuel filter, it ran fine about four miles then stalled and won't start.it will start and idle then seems to run out of gas.

Wouldn't happen to be a diesel, would it? If so, do a search on ebay for a remote fsd/pmd module. Fixed my 95 'rado (in less than 20 minutes) with a 6.5 turbo diesel -it would stall wherever and whenever it wanted, without warning.

Chevy truck running rough 150,000 miles

Find out why the engine light is coming on, it is the info u probably need to fix the running rough problem. Most auto parts stores will read the codes stored in your trucks computer for free, write them down, and ask what they mean and how to correct the problem. If u need more info, return to this site w/ codes for further help.
