We replaced the transmission twice and they were both guaranteed.
It shifts through all the gears until you get to thirty to thirty five miles an hour and then it kicks into neutral.

Did you replace the torque converter when you replaced the transmisson? you should have and that sonds like what your problem is (where they used or new transminssons)?

Is clutch release linkage working? Installing clutch disc backwards will do this too. With engine off, put in gear, depress clutch pedal and turn engine by hand to see if clutch is still dragging.
About all you can do at this point is change the oil in the gear box and have your shift linkage checked and adjusted. The grind is internal, and the transmission will need to be removed to be repaired. Most likely it's worn synchronizers.
Your car may need transmission fluid. Generally when there is a hard shift in gear, the transmission fluid is low. You may need to add a little transmission fluid.
The filter and transmission fluid needs to be changed........The transmission filter is dirty and causing a flow restriction under load.....Hope this helps.

Then, if it is and still has the symptom of not shifting into drive, but all the other gears are working,
Then, I believe the transmission will require a rebuild, to replace the solenoid that is causing the transmission to not shift into Drive.
One, also, might consider getting a used transmission with low miles that has a guarantee to replace the malfunctioning transmission at a lesser cost than rebuilding the whole thing.

This a repair for a transmission shop. Sounds like the pumps are bad inside the transmission. Thats the worst option I have.
It also can be a poor shift linkage adjustment. And the last solution can be the speed module that tell the transmission when to shift.

The service engine soon light, you need to have the computer put on a scanner and find out whats wrong. A lot of part stores will put your car on a computer for free, and tell you whats wrong. then its up to you to replace or fix whats wrong.
