My 03 alero 2.2 dash lights don't come on and engine won't turn over when attempting to start. With the key turned on I whack the under hood fuse box with my fist one good time and dash lights come back on then the engine starts right up. May need a new fuse box though it appears to be in good shape, no signs of corrosion or anything.

Check the fuse in the underhood fusebox. It should be the fuse labeled "Main."

Abs light on in 2000 Alero 3.4

check fuses..If the fuse blows the light comes on and the ABS system is not working..Or possible the abs motor is shot. In any rate it is a good idea to look into it as soon as possible. You ABS system is not working. You still have brakes but the anti lock system that prevents skids will not work

My turn signal lights on my Oldsmobile alero comes on and off while drive. what should i do for that.

most common failure is the flasher module which is located in the center of the dash. it is also the hazard light switch above the radio. the module gets a bad contact in it and makes the signal lights work without having to turn them on.

Turn sinals won't work, turn on hazzards they worked but buttom /hazzard went into dash board

replace the turn signal switch fuse.if they dont work after replacing fuse.check to see if switch getting power if yes replace turn signal switch.if not you have a electrical problem.you have to remove the center cluster.like the radio.to reach the hazzard switch.besure to turn off radio. disconnect negative battery cable.wait 20 minutes let air bags discharge.when working on instrument cluster or steering wheel area.air bags has to be disable.

Abs light stays on 2001 alero

My GMC Dealer said that the problem is caused by a short in the ignition/electrical system. (seems to be a problem for many). He also said that the ABS will NOT actually work while the light is on! All my dash warning lights, radio/clock, and sometimes even ignition(turning key) have problems. The car is drivable but not working correctly. Short term solution: turn key ON, wait 10-15 min, turn off for a few minutes to 'reset' and then try to turn car on. Worked for me yesterday. Good Luck!
