1998 FORD E 250 WHERE IS THE ALTERNATOR FUSE?

many times it's aired with radio.

Ford calls it your "GEM" module and it's above the fuse panel by your left knee.

Look under the hood in the large fuse panel on the fender well.

Check the fuses there are 4 that you will need to inspect.In the engine juction fuse box its a 50 amp fuse (big ones).Then goe to the panel fuse box (under instrument panel) fuse 15 mini.Then inspect the battery connection this includes the alternator wire itself. If the fuses are good do a wiggle test on the wire and alternator remeber your alternator is internal vontage regulator equipt that means wiggle test the connections

bstivers1, As you stand in front of your vehicle facing the engine, look to the left of the engine and see if there is a black cover that says main fuse. Remove that cover and there should be another little fuse cover inside. There should be a 20 amp fuse in there. Replace this fuse because if you follow the orange wire from the alternator will may find that it leads to this fuse. I know that Ford uses this set up for their F-150's but I am not sure if they use it for the F-250's or for a diesel. ALTERNATOR IS PCM CONTROLLED BESURE ERASE FAULT CODE.CHECK TO SEE IF POWER GOING TO ALTERNATOR BATTERY FEED WIRE.AND CHECK VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES FOR DAMAGE.CHECK BATTERY CABLES MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN AND TIGHT.CHECK THE LARGE MEGA FUSE NEAR THE BATTERY.THAT WILL CAUSE CHARGING PROBLEM IF MEGA FUSE IS BLOWN.

i check for blown fuse if ok most likely head light switch.

no fuses on alt... drive car to local parts store and they will test charging system free...maybe the alt is bad or could be battery.. no alternators have fuses on them
