I recently put in 1 gallon of diesel fuel in my car when it was almost empty and then later had an accident and car . slid in ditch but no impact. Yesterday it started after putting alittle gas in but today it doesnt start. Could it be because car was on an incline for to long and it could be battery or oil went over top of things because it did smoke when it was cranked

Let me understand; put diesel fuel in a car designed for gasoline? If so your looking at a whirl of other issues. Diesel fuel is not as combustable as gasoline and requires much more compression (almost double) then a gasoline vehicle, also diesel fuel is more oily and will gel up in cold temps which is why there is a heater on the motor to warm the fuel before entering the combustion chamber and third the engine needs to be pre warmed (glow plugs) to help ignite the diesel fuel. I would start by flushing the engines fuel system/tank and hopefully the injectors/fuel pump werent damaged/clogged. Its prob smoking because the fuel isnt igniting 100% and its like burning oil, it doesn't combust/explode like gasoline it just burns black due to incomplete combustion.

Just put 6 gallons of diesel in a 2005 dodge truck. Not a deisel

if it has a 60 gallon tank and you can fill up with petrol, it will probably smoke a bit and be a bit down on power but other than that, there will be no big problem
the problem will be if that is all the fuel there is and then you will have to remove the diesel and refill with petrol Easiest way to do that is to remove the fuel line after the filter and turn on the key to pump the fuel to almost empty

Accidently put about a gallon of diesel in my tank

I would just keep topping off the fuel tank,IF you only
put in ONE gallon of diesel

Not good advice, but it is better than trying to empty the tank,
either by syphon or removal of the tank, just for that problem

What's your problem?my citroen c5 diesel 53 plate 2.0 ltr HDi comes up with, anti-polution fault, on dash, with service and engine management lights on, then it goes into emergency mode, then will

Empty the tank completely. The additive you put in with only a gallon of fuel is not combustible and won't run. Bleed the system, after replacing the filter and refill the tank with fresh fuel by cranking and open all injectors one at a time, starting with the one closest to the injector distribution pump, until you get clean fuel from each injector. It will start and run shortly. Never put any additive in the tank without the tank being full of fuel after the additive is put in. All these additives, like I said, are non-combustible.

Slid into a ditch and hit a fence post with front end... no damage to car air bag did not deploy... now car wont start... I have a 1995 chevy lumina

is there an inertia switch? if there is it trips when there is an impact and cuts the power to the fuel pump. check if you have one and reset it.

Low fuel light stays on. gas gauge is inaccurate

It could be a couple things, fuel pump or your fuel float inside the tank is going. Best best depending on what you want to spend. Call a junkyard for a replacement or a scrap yard/ salvage parts.
You may want to also put a large carboard box under the car (laying flat) to see if the gas tank is leaking too.
