I have a problem with my bora when it first starts in the mornings, it starts no problem but the revs only go to about three and a half thousand, it still drives but when trying to put my foot down it just splutters as if it is not getting enough diesal. Once I have run about for around an hour and the temp is normal, I can pull up for a few minutes and switch the engine off, when it is turned over again the engine responds as normal and I dont have any problems all the rest of the day unless it sits for about 4 hours. This has only happened since a normal year service has been done. I have had this on computers during the problem but nothing is shown. I tried also changing the speedo sensor on the back of the clutch as the other had a crack in it but problem remains. The engine is a AJM code. Any ideas as the only other I could think of is the injector seals, but would this not mean it would be a constant problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
SOURCE: engine swap
your engine is a pump injector diesel engine a there are shed loads of pump injector engine codes that will fit.your current engine is a 115bhp 8 valve.i would sugest a ARL 150bhp ,it will fit ok.if you ask for a front wheel drive 8 valve 1.9 PD engine you wont go far wrong.
SOURCE: vw bora 2000 w reg wont start?? help please
Possibly air in the fuel lines. Possibly Fuel Injection Pump Case Relief Valve has come apart (funny looking ,10mm bolt with 2 round sides on left side of Injection Pump). Great site for TDIs - www.tdiclub.com - forum thread on this very problem. Great people will help get you going.

You need the OBD codes checked to be certain of the problem. If engine
is running ok with the light on, it may well be an oxygen sensor
problem.

simplest answer first, and this does not apply to a hot engine,The engine heaters work from a time switch on the door(would you believe)and the routine is, open door, climb in,put on belt, put key in ignition and turn on when orange light goes out.this allows the cold start heaters time to work(about 20 secs).sounds a pain but the number of times this has been all it is,when you put key in ignition, the fuel pump charges the system.hence the squirt noise, also the car has to reccognise the key(immobiliser system)also try using wynns/redexe to clean injectors...
SOURCE: volkswagon bora 130 tdi is juddering with asr
asr works in conjunction with abs.to stop a wheel it(the car)thinks is loosing grip, from spinning.By applying the brakes to the wheel that is loosing grip,so the car is applying the brake. hence the juddering. if it stops when you turn it (asr)off it must be a sensor fault.easy way is to plug in the diagnostic computer to pinpoint faulty unit. if you dont drive very enthusiastically, then turn asr off until next mot/service.get back if you need any more info ....
