Must remove the alternator and alternator bracket. Bottom screw is the toughest, best use a ratcheting wrench to get the bottom bolt off the bracket. Same with the bolts on the thermostat, one of them is very close to AC lines so use this type of wrench. Since the temperature sending unit is 2" up from the thermostat, you might as well replace this too.
Trace the upper radiator hose to the mounting area on the intake manifold. Loosen the hose clamp on the manifold end of the hose and remove the hose. Pull the thermostat out of the intake manifold.
