My 1990 4 cylynder isuzu trooper has been having problems starting in the cold. It will fire up run for 3 seconds then die. you can do this over again and same thing happens. however when the outside temp warms up it will fire, start and run with out dying. We thought it was the fuel pump so we replaced that yesterday as well as the filter screen... However thismorning much to our dismay the same thing happened... NO GO... HELP!!! if it is a coolant temp sensor. where would we find the location of this part?

Isuzu V6 sparkplug firing order

gee guy, 3.1L or 3.2L?
you only need 3 things to time the distrib. static.
where is #1, its the most forward cylinder, LOOK carefully.
forward means closest to the cam drive end of engine.
not flywheel end.
rotor rotation direction (crank and watch it)
now the order, 3.2l v6? IS It? the single cam?
1990 trooper v6
answering for only USA car...
our 3.2 has no distrib V6 its DIS.

My 1990 isuzu trooper was driven to town when it started to heat up and miss a lot. No power on acceleration. Shop took compression test. # 1 piston 150 # 2 50 # 3-0- # 4.-0- I had the auto shop replace...

replacing the head gasket solved one problem.
But, you have a leakage problem with oil and/or antifreeze now.
The head gasket could be failing again, or you have a cracked block or cylinder head.

Take it back to where it was worked on and say that you want it fixed, please.

good luck on this.

My 1990 isuzu troopers fuel pump is constantly running and making the battery go dead even though the key and engine is off. What can be the problem?

Bad switch or someone has bypassed the switch, should shut off when you turn ignition switch off, my 94 does. HUNT

The truck starts up for a few seconds then dies?my truck is 1989 isuzu trooper ,the weather is very cold right now , is this a fuel pressure problem?

It actually could be a number of things. I need to ask you more questions to narrow my prognosis down. You mentioned the weather being cold, lately. How cold? Freezing? When was your last tune up and do you eventually get the car started after trying for a while? If you do how does it run?

1998 Isuzu Bighorn Diesel. The car just won't start. My local dealer can start it using a cold start spray. But he has not been able to solve the problem. Please could somebody help

I have a 1998 Bighorn 3.0L if the wrong grade of oil is used in the motor it miss fires and runs rough, due to the injectors being oil pressure controlled, I have heard of extreme cases causing a failure to start when cold. good luck

1990 isuzu trooper will not start in cold weather

Well, could be many things, but first and easiest, check the dist. cap and rotor, and all the plug connections. Any moisture will freeze and short out the ignition system. Also change the fuel filter. If you get the slightest moisture in the fuel it will lock up the filter when the water freezes. Could be a relay, probably "engine relay" that sticks when it gets too cold.

Some starting points I hope.
