You did not specify which engine your Vitara has, the 4 or 6 cylinder, so here are both layouts. For front of vehicle, read ' side of engine where pulleys are'. If your distributor layout is different, locate the position of #1 wire with the engine at TDC compression and follow the firing order around the cap in a clockwise direction:-

What is the firing order?

Here's an image for a Mazda firing order:

If you can't view the image, look on the link below:

firing order for 2000 Mazda Millenia Google Search
If it's the wrong diagram simply do a Google search for 'Mazda Millenia firing order'

I'm not familiar with your car ... but does it have ordinary ht ignition leads, or colour coded ignition wires?
If it has colour coded ignition wires - each wire is a different colour for each different plug.

The image below is for a 4 cylinder engine:

On a ram 1500 if I turned the pulley number of time and sstopped the groove at TDC but not in cylinder 1 position will the truck run bad or the timing offset?

the timing mark indicates where the no 1 piston is in the bore. It can be at tdc compression stroke (firing) or at tdc exhaust. If it is on compression stroke ( test by removing no 1 plug and feeling the pressure under your thumb) then the rotor button will be pointing to no 1 HT lead in the distributor cap. If it is on exhaust stroke the rotor button will be 180 degrees from no 1 ht lead . It it is point to no 1 HT lead on compression stroke the truck will start ___IF YOU HAVE THE CORRECT FIRING ORDER FOR THE ht LEADS ) and if it is 180 degrees out it will not start. If it starts and runs but backfires then you will have the firing order wrong on 2 leads

I changed the HT cables on my 2y engine. But got it mixed up. Need helppliz

firing order is 1-3-4-2 , but for this to help you will have to know where the HT cables connect from ,as you haven't mentioned year i don't know if youv'e got a distributor or coil pack/s , you may already know the position for the HT cable at the coil end, so the firing order is all you need , any more info req'd just post

Daewoo tacuma Just changed my spark plugs and HT leads now enging runs rough and stalls on idle

CHECK YOU FIRING ORDER, YOU MIXED THE IGNITION WIRES, IF IT IS A 4 CYL, FIRST CYLINDER #1 IS NEAR THE BELTS, CHECK COIL WIRES FOR NUMBERS, OR DISTRIBUTOR CAP FOR CYLINDER NUMBER OR COIL PACK FOR CYL #, AND FOLLOW THE WIRES TO THE SPARK PLUGS. MAKE SURE THEY ARE RIGHT, NEXT TIME DO ONE PLUG AND ONE WIRE AT THE TIME.

Error code P0300

code po300 refers to random/multiple cylinder/s--misfire/s detected.===causes-- spark plug/s--HT leads /s--injector /s--ignition coil/s--low compression ---wiring
Check that the HT leads are not touching each other causing spark cross over . Ensure that the coil wires are properly connected . From what you have done, I would revisit everything ( all connections ) to ensure that everything is in order including firing order of the leads

Check correct position of ht leads in firing order for starters as crossed adjustment leads will give this problem. Check ht leads and plugs. Check for vacuum leaks

REWIRE SPARK CABLES 95 CHEVY CORSICA V6

Hi, I am not aware of your skills level, however, some office "WHITE OUT" or white paint etc will vastly assist you to complete the task successfully. Pick a lead in the cap, mark it's location with a dab of white out / white paint, follow the wire, (HT lead) to it's spark plug, very carefully remove the spark plug connection and / or rubber boot if fitted. fit the replacement lead and route it back to the cap. Carefully remove the original cable and fit the replacement. Do the same for the rest of the cables,(HT leads) marking the cap as you go, ie, a,b,c,d or a number sequence your choice.. Remember, doNOT remove all cables at the same time. Change out one at a time, and you will not mix up the firing order.

It is a wise precaution to replace the cap and rotor, when you replace the cables, (HT leads.). .

Good luck.

Replace spark plugs in 1991 chevy cavalier

To change sparkplugs in any car, no matter what make or model is pretty straight forward.

1, take one sparkplug out at a time, and put the lead back on this way you will not mix up the HT lead and the firing order.
2, repeat the process on all plug's and you will be OK!

All the best!!!
