That is an interesting question. KIA will stand for exactly that; Killed In Action. I personally would not run the engine after draining the oil, lol. I get what you are saying though. Once the oil is drained, drain plug reinstalled, filter changed, and engine refilled with clean oil, the engine may be started right away. It will make a noise for a second or 2. Run it for about 10 seconds, wait 10 -15 seconds, double check you level. If I remember right, 4 quarts. Start there and 5W 20 is the recomended weight.
I am not sure what you are asking. if it is what i think then you are heading for trouble.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER run a engine without oil in it. you will destroy the motor. drain your oil, change the filter then add the amount of oil your owners manual says to . Then start it and check for leaks.

If you drained out all the oil out of the engine, then wait to run it until you have added enough oil back to it to show "full" on the dipstick. DO NOT run an engine without oil in the crankcase.
