Location of chassis number for hummer 1989 series

Check around the base of the master bed.

Check your starter signal wire is not shorted to ground. Make sure its not rubbing on the chassis.

The VIN number is behind the windscreen on the lower left corner. Some also have it inside the glove box. American and Mexican made Hummers do not have a chassis number as such.

The fuse box cover has numbers that indicate where the individual fuses are located in the fuse box

I don't mean to sound sarcastic but if you can't find the battery in the engine compartment under the hood, then you should have someone help you. It's not safe messing with something you are not able to find . Hope that Helps.

If you mean the VIN number It has been a federal requirement for years that all car makers put them at the base of the windshield just infront of the steering wheel. It is also on the data lable on the drivers door

model not listed in my alldata book ,most models are on the top of the bulkhead under the screen ,but some big 4x4 are showiing at the back over back wheel and to the rear of it on the chassis so no doubt its corroded away ,if it has restamp it before you try importing it or you will need this certificate from dealer plus that paper signed by technical engineer and another from the customs then this and that ,in the end the paperwork costs more than the value of the vehicle ,i know because this is spain ,and of the decline of the forests through paperwork .

The fuel filter in not in the engine compartment. It is under the car along side the driver side of the chassis.
