Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. All you have to do is remove the screws that hold the panel on. They are probably 4-6 screws on the outer edge of the door panel. You may have one or two on the handle or door lock area. If not, just remove the ones on the side. Once it is removed, you will then need to remove any foam or plastic that is in the door. The regulator controls the window going up and down so that might be your problem. Once everything is removed, you should be able to find your problem.

How to remove rear door glass?

Remove Inner door panel, usually, the door handle has a screw, behind the lever, on the inside, and may be covered by a plastic cover, take the screw out, and move the handle forward, then take, the side on clip, off, the rod.
remove, any inside door handles, screw to door, and then starting from the bottom, pull the panel towards you, unsnapping, the plastic clipps, holding them on the door.
Roll window down, till you can see the 2 nuts, holding the bottom of the window.
Now, run the window mechanism, all the way down, away from window, while holding window.
Now it is loose, twist the window, inside the door, front down, back up, so, it comes out, the top
Put back, same way

I have a 2001 Audi A6 and the driver side door takes about 10 tries to shut it. Inside if you roll down the window and shut it by pulling gently from the outside of the door it works every time but it's...

Since I have to guess based on your description, I would remove the inside door panel (carefully) and determine if something with the door latch mechanism has come loose or otherwise disconnected. You will likely find something cracked or broken that when the window is down there is less stress on that part, but window up may put too much stress on the part. It would be difficult to diagnose without seeing inside the door.

How to open the door on a 2004 altima if both of my handles dont work

There are f few ways. Bust the plastic handle off the outside . Make sure the door is not locked. If you can get inside the door this way and see a rod near the door handle. Push up and down [ usually down ] on this, door should open . OR Roll the window down. Pry up on the inner door panel by the rubber piece that clears your window. This piece should be able to pry up, enough to see the same rod I am talking about.Usually, these rods push down to open the door. #3 Roll up window, put a small wedge between the window and the door by the door handle. This should get the gap open enough to look down inside the door. Look for this same rod, near the door handle, and push down on it to open the door. replace Hope I was helpful please rate this solution

Outside handle on 1997 Toyota Avalon will not open door

Since you can get the door open, half the battle is already won. Yes, open the door, pull the interior door panel and take a look around. Watch inside with a flashlight (towards the rear of the door) as you roll the window down to see if you can see what it's snagged on.

Door panel and bezel removal

There are two screws in the door pull (which face straight down) - remove those first.

Next remove bezel around inside door handle. Carefully use screwdriver to push in on four tabs (at the four compass headings) and pull out on bezel. These are easy to break as they get brittle with age.

Start at bottom of door (using a trim removal tool) and pry out door fasteners (white posts which fit into friction fittings in door). You have to pry pretty hard. Use trim removal tool to apply force right at fastener. There are 3-4 on bottom of door and two on each side.

Once all the fasterners are loose. Carefully look behind door and remove the doors light and speaker connectors. The Speaker Connector can be hard to get to - you may need some help holding panel. Be careful because the wires to speakers are delicate and easy to break.

Once the panel is loose - roll down windows and pull up on door panel. It has a lip that fits over top of the door opening. You must pull straight up to disengage it.

That's it all done - not really hard but will seem a little strange at first. Take your time and be careful and the seconds one will take much less. I've had to remove all four of my door panels on my 1999 K1500 to replace window and lock motors. But, after 200,000 miles the 'burb is going strong.

Passenger window makes loud noise when rolled down

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Pull back the weather seal and you should be able to see what the window is catching on.
I've seen cases where the lock cylinder comes loose and hits the window

I have a 99 mitsubishi eclipse and I'm wondering how to install the door handle

i just did one on passenger door, roll window up, use 1/4" sockets, on door end, by door latch there is a 10mm, level with door handle, take off door panel inside, you'll see the window where its bolted, just behind that dip down shape of the window where it attaches, you'll see another 10mm bolt, take those 2 bolts out, remove the two extension rods, cliped on to handle lever, and lock cylinder, one on handle is white clip, one on cylinder is green clip, flip the snap part of clip away from rod, and slide rod out of clip hole, walla, pull handle out, unclip retainer clip from around slots holding cylinder into handle, and your done, p.s. try to reclip door handle rod into white clip before bolting back in to gain easier access to white clip and rod, green isnt as hard
