My new fuel filter leaks

I just installed it and it leaks a tiny bit of gas out of the top just under the head of the bolt. is that because of a bad filter, washers in the wrong place, or what?? please help me!

I have the same problem too and it has been running just fine for a couple of months but I am rather curious to know what is the cause of such a problem. I was thinking the washers wheren't seated properly but more than likely that's what the problem is.

Are you using new copper washers supplied with the filter? (A Civic filter requires four washers, one on each side of each pipe connection). Used washers are already crushed and so require more torque to seal. Usually just tightening the hex fitting more will make the seal.
Always use two wrenches, one to keep the filter body from turning while you torque the retaining fitting against the connection pipe and crush washers.

How to install new oil housing kit 94 f 150 5.0

If you got oil coming out when it's running around oil filter. You probably got a oilfilter adapter. You have to remove oil filter(replace) and let oil drop off adapter. After a bit wipe adapter off and you will foind one alan-head bolt in the center or two alan-head bolts. After removing clean, install gasket or a o-ring it could take both. Don't over tighten bolts. Make sure you clean off old oil where oil filter seats

My vehical is leaking fuel from the gas tank

Most likely cause of this is the steel lines on the top of the tank being corroded, BUT,

-If it leaks only when you fill up, it could be the fill hoses.

-If it leaks as soon as you fire the vehicle up, it will be the fuel pump assembly being rusted (consists of a fuel pump, fuel gauge sensor, lines and wiring, and is located in, and at the top of the fuel tank)

-If it only starts to leak after you have been driving for a bit, over bumps etc, then most likely it is the tank itself

Hope this helps

Where is the fuel filter for a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Hello robinhutchis: My name is roger and I will help with your question. You will find the fuel filter located under the van just to the right of the fuel pump and located above the fuel tank. Will look like a oblong ball with three lines attached to it. One line goes toward the front of the van the other two should point toward the fuel pump. Will be held by one fastener. Either a 10mm. or 13mm. headed bolt. Remove the bolt and release the locks on the fuel lines. NOTE. (Fuel lines are under pressure and will leak gas. Besure not to smoke or create a spark as serius harm to your self is posiable or fire.) Reinstall new filter in space of the old filter. Secure fuel lines and the filter.

How to replace the fuel filter on a honda accod 1997

You can find this underhood on driver side's below brake master cylinder. You will need a new fuel filter part # 16010-st5-933

tools needed: 10mm, 17mm sockets, 17 mm wrench, 3/8 drive short + long extension,rachet, 3/8 drive 14mm crow foot , 14mm short line wrench

this is a bit trickier to replace but it is simple..some people do the whole job from the top, that is when you will use the 14mm short line wrench,,personally i have found it a lot easier to loosen up the lower fuel line from the bottom ,,, Anyho ....

# 1 remove gas cap, to relieve fuel line pressure

# 2 raise the car up and with the long extension , 14mm crow foot , loosen the fuel line at bottom of filter DO NOT totally undo the line at this time or you will get fuel soaked,, put a pan under car so fuel can go there instead of on the floor once you totally undo the line

# 3 remove the 17mm nut at the fuel rail,( top end of fuel hose going to filter ) do not loose the aluminum washer you need to reuse it

# 3.5 remove the 17mm bolt for the fuel hose at fuel filter, remove the hose

# 4 totally undo the lower fuel line but undo it from the top ( engine compartment)

# 5 remove the 10mm fuel filter bracket bolt,, remove the assembly . you might have to play with it a bit but it will slide up by the master cylinder

# 6 once out, remove the 10mm bolt that hold the filter in the bracket., install new filter, make sure to line it up on the slot

# 7 if you look at the body where filter bracket mounts, there is an opening , below where the mounting bolt is, make sure to install the lower bracket nipple inside that hole,

# 8 before you install the 10mm bracket bolt, start the lower fuel line , from the top , make sure to turn the nut a few turn to make sure it is not cross threaded. once line is started ok, mount the bracket on the body tighten the 10mm bolt,,

# 9 tightem the lower fuel line ,,

# 10 install the upper hose, make sure to use new aluminum gaskets, put gas cap back on

Start the car and make sure there are no fuel leaks

Where is the fuel filter in my 1992 Isuzu Rodeo?

Look on passenger side frame rail ahead of the rear wheel in a bracket with a fuel line on each end. Before starting replacement-- be sure to release pressure from fuel lines, by removing fuel pump fuse under hood and running engine to use gas from lines. I then remove fuel lines by moving clamps away from fitting so hose can be pulled loose from old filter while it is still in bracket. On top of mounting is a bolt that holds filter clamp in place . After removing clamp and filter from mounting bracket, loosen filter body clamp and slip oout old filter-- then in with the new filter. Then reverse your steps to install filter. After filter is back in place -- reinstall fuel pump fuse, turn on key for a few seconds for gas to refill lines, then start engine and check your installation to make sure you have no fuel leaks at line connections.
