My car is a 2000 vtech honda civic. Engine light stays on even after I took the car to the mechanic and changed the oxygen sensor, which they said was the problem. I took it to another place and I am told that the problem is with the manufacturer control fuel air meatering. What does that mean, please? What should I do next? My mechanic does not seem to know what to do. THANKS

TELL ME WHAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE YOU ARE GETTING.CODE SCAN AND TELL ME WHAT CODE YOU ARE GETTING.MOST VTECH ENGINE HAS PROBLEM WITH VTEC SOLENOID OR VTEC OIL PRESSURE SWITCH.MOST TIME CHECK THE OIL PRESSURE BY REMOVING VTEC OIL PRESSURE SWITCH FROM THE LOCK UP SOLENOID AND CONNECT AN ADAPTER BETWEEN THE SWITCH AND THE SOLENOID. BUT I CANT SAY ITS YOUR VTEC SYSTEM UNTIL YOU CODE SCAN CAR.OIL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 50 PSI @ 3000 RPM OR 85 PSI @3000 RPM.

I have a 2000 honda civic code po420 came up so what catlacy coverter do I change the one bye the engine or in the back

theres only one catalytic converter. but it should be refering to the oxygen sensors. if your going to change them, you should change all of them, but since i can imagine money is an issue right now in this economy, change the front one, its the main one, and the one towards the rear is the back-up one. hope this helps, goodluck.

Disassemble and clean the carb, particularly the jets. I suspect the charge light being on is a result of your destroyed battery, which needs to be replaced. Sta-bil over the winter and a smart trickle charger will prevent the problems you are having in the future...

Check engine light

P0041 Downstream Oxygen Sensors Swapped From Bank To Bank
How does a P0041 code trigger the check engine light? This code will trigger the light to come on under the following condition:

The Heated Oxygen Sensor Monitor, a strategy built into the computer, determines if the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) signal response for a change in fuel trim corresponds to the correct engine bank. If a response from the Oxygen Sensor being tested is not indicated, a trouble code will be set and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) will illuminate.
Possible Causes:
Crossed Heated Oxygen Sensor harness connectors
Wiring swapped from one Oxygen Sensor connector to the other
Wiring changed at the computer connection or in the related harness
