Check for power at starter solenoid on switch side (purple wire) should have 12-12.6 volts if you have power to the solenoid and it won't do anything then the starter is bad.

Hi Bennie:
I'd start by checking the fuse panel. There may be a separate circuit for the high beams.
Cheers.

THERE IS A CHIP IN THE KEY I BELIEVE. THERE IS A RELEARN PROCEDURE YOU CAN TRY IF WHEN YOU TRY AND START IT THE SECURITY LIGHT FLASHES. HOOK UP A BATTERY CHARGER. TURN THE KEY ON AND TRY AND START THE CAR AND RELEASE . DO NOT TURN KEY OFF LEAVE IT IN THE RUN POSITION. AFTER 10 MINS THE LIGHT WILL STOP FLASHING. TURN KEY OFF. TRY AND RESTART CAR AND AGAIN DO NOT TURN KEY OFF LEAVE IN THE RUN POSITION. LET SET 10 MINS AGAIN. LIGHT WILL STOP FLASHING AFTER THAT 10 MINS. DO IT AGAIN FOR THE 3RD TIME. SHUT KEY OFF LET SET 5 SECONDS AND START THE VEHICLE. HOPE THIS HELPS

97 buick century, oil light started flashing, check engine light flashing car shut down on the interstate. what can i do?

Go check your oil first. If it is low or absent then you need to go get some! The car needs 2-3 quarts to get back into range at the least. Then try starting the engine. If the car starts and the light goes out you can drive to a mechanic and have the check engine code read to see what else is wrong. If the oil light stays on....call for a tow truck! You risk serious and complete engine damage if you drive any further...if you havent already!

Be careful and good luck!

you could have a bad tork converter clutch and you could have a bad injector. also the new wire or plug could be defective but is not likely. Did you gap the new plug?
