Fuel gauge fell instantly to zero whilst driving. Low fuel light illuminated. Tank full of diesel. Cannot find fuse listed in manual.. Looks like electrical fault due to the instant fall to zero..No other electrical services appear to have failed. I have os yet dismantled flooring to inspect connection but believe that there should be a 12v supply to the sender and a modulated return voltage to the gauge. Before dismantling I would wish to check the approprate fuse..

SOURCE: low fuel pressure 95 volvo 940 turbo

fuel pump check valve doesn't cause pressure loss, just hard starting cold, the check valve is part of the fuel pump, so to replace the valve u must replace the pump. do not use anything but the orig style pump, here is the part number from THE OE PUMP MAKER AT www.rockauto.com
DELPHI Part # FE0071 PRICE $124.99

SOURCE: volvo 940 se turbo estate 1995 engine cuts out

I would replace the fuel pump relay, and the engine speed sensor. I would need more information to rule one or the other out, but at this mileage, neither part is terribly expensive, and both have been known to cause your same exact condition

SOURCE: fuel gauge problem, Volvo 960, 1995

it is more than likely the sender if you pull out pump you can manually move sender or you can test gauge by grounding sender the gauge should go to full if none of this happens you need a gauge

SOURCE: 2001 Volvo V70-T5 fuel guage malfunction

I had the same problem plus the trunk light was off too. Pull out and wiggled all relays on rear fuse panel. It did not work. Then decided to do the dumbest thing to pull out all the fuses. Pull out #1, not bad. push it back in. The trunk lights lighted. Then check everything. All good.

How much fuel is left when the low fuel light comes on

It varies for every car. Usually 1-1.5 gallons when the low fuel light comes on. I drove my last '93 Ford Taurus around until the gauge said it was empty. Lifted the car and took the gas tank off and it had 3 or more gallons still in it. Here's some fun, zero your odometer, fill the gas tank and drive it until the low fuel light comes on. Then drive it till it dies out, obviously somewhere near home or where someone can drop off a full gas can.

Full tank of gas and getting low fuel indicator on dash

Bad fuel level sensor. Unfortunately it is located inside the gas tank. Fairly common problem on GM's. Due to sulphur in fuel. Corrodes the sensor tabs. Expensive to have repalced and NOT a do-it-yourself project, unless you have dropped a tank before.

Low fuel light indicator

try checking for other fuses, replace them with the same ampacity. With the radio, radio and light are on the same fuse i believe the lights for the radio are bad. If fuses are okay maybe the light bulb for the low fuel indicator has blown the light bulb can be replaced.

My low fuel light came on and the gauge read so but upon filling

Sounds like your fuel sending unit may be bad, or you have a hell of a leak. Should still be under warranty.

Fuel Tanks reversed , Gauge not reading?

The Ford trucks were recalled for the tank switch replacement. Somehow the switches would pump fuel from one tank to the other. This would cause the one tank to overflow and or result in a fire from hot exhaust temps coming into contact with the fuel. Check the dash tank switch. It is probably bad.
