For about 5 months, my air condition would only work as long as I was driving. For the past two days I've notice: 1.)orange leakage 2.)burning smell 3.)over heating 4.)car shutting off when I stop with foot on brake 5.)oil light & trac off light comes on once car shuts off. Chevrolet Cavalier 2002

Sounds like the volatile fluid gas that is used in the refrigeration of the ac unit has leaked or it needs resealing and regassing.most garages with ac repairs techs will know this.Its about £75 in uk money to regas such a unit.did the air conditioning unit not work as well during preceding weeks is a sure telltale sign it needs regassing.good luck.

1 filter. You could also try spraying deodorizer into the cabin air system intake near the hood and windshield from the exterior.

Check your drive belt it may be slipping and the smell is being carried to the cabin through the air vents.

A leak of some fluid, probably oil, dripping onto the exhaust. This smells terrible, and it only needs a drop or two.

The burning smell could be due to gas leakage in the engine compartment. The gas smell is being sucked into the fresh air intake of the air conditioner. It can be avoided by checking either fuel pressure regulator or fuel injector.

It sounds like the belt is slipping or maybe even the compressor is seized. Just check to see if the compressor is turning.

It's probably OK to drive. I imagine they failed to get the oil filter properly seated and you're getting a little leak there. DO BE SURE to check the oil level before you drive it and add if necessary.

it might be a few things unfortunatly, 77k is not much for these cars but allot can go wrong with them, i can start with, valve guid seals these tend to wear arround 100,000 but deppends on use, wether hard driving or town, so you could be getting close to these, you can also check visually if there is another leak from the valve cover on the rear side or this might just be ressidue from the previouse leak, sometimes the smell of unburnt fuel can fill the car if the wind is blowing in opposite direction when standing still can fill the cab with fumes dont worry only minor, it possibly is the cold air rather than smoke condensation from the exhaust is warm and hitting cold air will do that, it dosent realy sound drastic and just keep an eye on the fluid levels as you are doing but i dont think there is much to be concerned about....hope this helps

It sounds like your heater core is leaking. Check to see if you are losing coolant, are smell like antifreeze???? With 190,000-miles this could be what your smelling??? Just a though???

You have oil leaks getting on the exhaust system, they are getting into the car, have the car checked over to find source of leaks.
