    I have a 2003 ford focus.
I had the same problem. The car missed when in hard acc and above 40mph. Had a technician fixed by,
    1.replaced the coil
    2. readjusted the spark

    It is now all fine.

Start cheaply. Replace #3 cylinder spark plug. If not, replace #3 cylinder wire. Lastly, replace the coil. Luckily I just changed my spark plugs and problem solved.

I have an 02 Taurus and I get code P0316, P0305, P0306, and P0304. I have already change the plugs, coil, and plug wires but obtain the same results from diagnostic reader. The issue I'm having is my engine runs really rough at idol but seems to run fine at higher speeds. I put a stethoscope to my injectors and it seems my two front ones, I think injectors four and five seem not to have much sound. It seems like I might just be hearing injector 6 from 4 and 5. I saw on a youtube video that a mechanic had the same code P0316 and P0304 and had replaced everything I did but found out it was a bad injector.
Should I try and replace the injector next?

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Ford Explorer that is misfiring with a code of p0300, p0303 and p0316

The 300 is random misfires & the 316 is misfires on the first
1000 revolutions, such as when the motor is first started

Your only working on cylinder #3 the PO303

If you have individual cop coils, replace that one

If you have a motor with a module for several cyclinders,
then you may be best to have a shop diagnose,so as
not to waste money on the wrong parts

SOURCE: 12 codes; 90174, p0171, p0175,p0300,p0301, p0302,

90174 (guessing it should be p0174 = system too lean)
92198 (guessing it should be p2198 = Oxygen Sensor Stuck Too Lean / Rich)

p0171, p0175 = system too lean (usually related to MAF Sensor)
p0301= Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected (Coil related most likely)
p0302 = Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected (Coil related most likely)
p0303 = Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected (Coil related most likely)
p0316 = Cylinder Misfire Detected (Coil related most likely)
p0420 = Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold
p2195, p2196 = Oxygen Sensor Stuck Too Lean / Rich (most likely the rubber hose from valve cover to throttle body

You may want to have your MAF changed, Coils changed, and your O2 Sensor checked. Also any one of those faults can also trigger another fault. I.E your O2 sensor could be could, but since it's misfiring, it's being triggered because the exhaust gases aren't what it should be. Hope this helps

Code P0303. Changed fuel pump motor and fuel filter. Ran great. filled the tank later and running poorly.

Could have dirt or rust in tank. This is the code
The P0316 code is a generic powertrain code related to the ignition system or misfire. When this code appears, a misfire has been detected on startup during the first 1,000 revolution

Misfiring

code p0303 refers to cyl 3 misfire detected ===causes engine mechanical fault--wiring--ignition/fuel system--injector--ECT/MAF sensor--ECM
code p0316 refers to misfire detected during start up --first 1000 revs===causes --engine mechanical fault--wiring--ignition/furl system--injector
the common fault cause is ignition/ fuel system and injectors so I would be checking fuel pressure and injector systems for clean and wiring connections are good especially on no 3 injector.

2004 ford explorer sport tracs cylinder 1 misfire

The coil-on-plug. These are common to fail. #1 is easy to get to, all you need is a 7mm socket, an extension, and a ratchet. P0301 tells you that cyl.#1 is not firing everytime it is asked to, P0316 means that during the first 1000 revolutions when you start your truck, there was a misfire. To be sure about the coil, swap the coils with the one next to #1. Clear the codes and wait for the codes to return. If the code P030_ shows up, (P0302 if you swapped it with #2, P0303 for #3, for example) Then remove that coil and get you another!

The truck hestitates and feels like it is going to stall. code p0303 and p0316. I was told it is a coil issue, the last person to work on it said there was condensation in the coil but the same problem...

A P0303/P0316 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #3. Symptoms may include:
  • the engine may be harder to start
  • the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
  • other symptoms may also be present.
CAUSES. A code P0303/P0316 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plug or wire
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injectors.
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Running out of fuel
  • Poor compression
  • Defective computer.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car , it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors. This all has to be checked.Tell you car technician to check all the above mentioned possibilities. This will help. Thanks please keep updated. please please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
