1993 grand cherodo laredo loud bang in rear when i turn corners

I turned a corner pretty fast and heard a loud band when i drive straight it is ok but when i make a turn i hear a loud bang and it feel like somthing is grabbing please help

My brother just had the same problem. Turns out he had the differential fluid changed and they did not add the special preservative. Ended up having to replace the rear diff.

Hi dtpp,
You are going to have to crawl around under the jeep for a few, If the noise is just that, a noise and the tires don't seem to catch or no grinding going on, look for your exhaust pipe possibly lose or the track bar..stabilizer bar, shocks or any broken bolts..any connection that just doesn't look right..You don't need the vehicle up on a lift to check this stuff. If you don't see anything right in your face use a jack and lift the rear of the jeep, put it on stands from the frame so the rear end is free to the air, be careful about not being under it and just start wiggling stuff, you should be able to spot the sound. Good luck and if you can have someone help you, easier to spot as well as safe.

if this has the 4.0 ltr, it is on the rear corner of the head near the corner of the valve cover,it screws straight down into the head and is actually a very small and slender sensor,and has a one wire connector and i believe the sensor connector is white,but the wiring connector that goes to it is black if i remember correctly,hope this helps

Loud clunking noise when i turn a corner both sides rear

check the sway bar kinks for play both rear wheels will have to even ramps work good if you have them if the is any play in the links it wil rattle also check for play in the bushings that the bar goes threw tis will also give you the noise you complain of

I have a 1994 jeep laredo. When I make a u turn there's a loud sound while making the turn and the car starts skipping until I turn the wheel straight. What causes that?
