In rare cases your 1995 Maxima might use OBD2 but it is probably a OBD1. You could try an OBD1 reader but unfortunately OBD1 was not anywhere as useful for diagnostics as the OBD2. SOLVED What scan tool do need 95 Nissan Maxima
First check to see if there isn't a OBDII port under the dash. A LOT of '95 model vehicles came with both the OBDI and OBDII hookups. If it doesn't have an OBDII port, then you're going to have to find someone who has a scan tool and the proper connectors to interface with the PCM on your car.
this truck is not obd2, its obd1 so there are a few connector hookups, heres a diagram if your looking for the pcm or antilock brakes or the tcm and etc.hope this helps.
i know this post is old but 1996 and newer is obd2 and is under the dash but 1993-1995 is obd1 and is under the hood on passenger side hooked to part of the wiring harnes by the computer.
