Instrument cluster warning light

with the key off turn to run position pump the gas pedal all the way to the floor quickly 3 times then turn off wait a sec then start the car, that should reset your maintenance light. if it uses the honda reset. set odo to trip odometer A turn off the key, hold the reset button and turn the key to the run position, wait till the odo stops flashing then turn key off.

Does it light up ? When you turn the key on do the warning lights come on ? Check engine , oil , abs , air bag etc... just gauges not working ? Does the vehicle start an run ? Check cable which plugs into back of instrument cluster. Also fusible links.

Try hitting the dash above the cluster a couple times with the key in the "run" position. It sounds silly buy is a technique I use to determine if the instrument cluster contacts have hairline cracks in the solder contacts.

Before you replace the instrument cluster it'll have to be taken out and determine what color plug it has. Blue, black, white etc...

That is a actually a side view of an engine, which is called a CEL ( Check Engine Light) and it will be lit up Orange in color. When it lights up it means the (ECM) Computer in the car is telling you that it has received a Trouble Code from a sensor or engine component and you need to have a OBD II (On Board Diagnostic II ) scanner or code reader hooked up to the Diagnostic Port located under the driver's side footwell. The reader will extract a specific code from the computer which a mechanic will look up and they can determine what component needs to be repaired or replaced. install a mechanical guage to test the actual pressure, if its fine the sending unit is faulty, if nor remove the oil pan and check the oil pickup for blockage,

Checked Every fuse in the fuse box (no small task).This includes #4 - Power point Instrument Panel, #14 - Day time running lamps (auto lamps doesn't work nor does auto lock), #27 - ignition switch run feed, #35 - Instrument Cluster, #41 - Instrument Cluster, #42 - Delayed Accessory, #45 - Ignition switch run/start feed, #102 - Door locks body security module, #103 - Ignition switch, #110 - Ignition switch, & #116 - Ignition switch. But I also check all other ones as well, they all register OK. AC panel & radio work. Turn signals work. Mileage does not work, trip computer does. So, basically, everything works except auto head-lights, auto locks, and the dash cluster (no MPH, RPM, mileage display, Fuel, Temp, Tran Temp, and Oil Pressure).

I'm not sure what year you have but this color code works for 87-93 mustangs.

Radio Connector:

Light Green / Yellow - Hot at all times (Fuse 8)
Yellow / Black - Hot in ACC or Run (Fuse 11)
Light Brown / Red - Goes to instrument panel dimming rheostat (Fuse 4)
Red - Ground
White / Purple - Hot in ACC or Run (Fuse 11)

Speaker Connector:

White / Light Green - (+) Right Instrument Panel & Door Speaker
Dark Green / Orange - (-) Right Instrument Panel & Door Speaker
Brown / Pink - (+) Right Rear Speaker
Pink / Light Brown - (-) Right Rear Speaker
Pink / Light Green - (+) Left Rear Speaker
Tan / Yellow - (-) Left Rear Speaker
Light Brown / White - (+) Left Instrument Panel & Door Speaker
Orange / Light Green - (-) Left Instrument Panel & Door Speaker
