Locked keys in my car 1997 buick lesabre - LeSabre Buick Cars & Trucks

Kevin, Ignition and door locks are different cut keys on 1966 Buick. the ignition key was square/octagon shape and the door lock/trunk key were oval.

Does it have the automatic actuator?

jump terminals 4 and8 close all doors turn ignition on door locks should cycle press and hold lock and unlock buttons on transmiter after a 30 sec delay door locks will lock and unlock disconect jumper

A new ign lock cylinder is about $41.00 . Find wire at bottom of steering column just behind lower cover. Unplug wire and plug new lock cylinder wire into it. Place your old key with chip in it into the new cylinder. Now with a copy of old key or extra key start car. Hide new lock cylinder under dash and problem solved.

With your VIN number and proof of ownership (title, insurance card, etc.) any Buick dealer can cut and program a key for you. Any Chevy, Cadillac, or GMC dealer should be able to take care of as well.

LeSabre has theft deterrent system. If you have ever seen a theft lamp in the dash the key is special. Don't replace the lock cylinder.
The dealer can punch an ignition key for you. Take the title and registration to the parts dept with your id they should be able to help. Call dealer and ask how much for service. Check pricing at local locksmith. Sometimes the local guy needs the business and will give a better price. If this helps please rate my help. Have a better day

most likely ignition lock cylinder or if you are using an after market key it could be the key

first of all it sounds like an aftermarket alarm system.... do your self a favor have it removed. in va i charge about $60.00 to remove and put back like it was.. easy job... don't try to fix get rid of

not entirely sure about your buick, but I have a 2000 pontiac that has a switch just inside the glovebox that deactivates the trunk switch. that, together with locking the glovebox would prevent someone with jsut the valet key from gaining access to the trunk area.

they have had alot of problems with key switches in that model that is where i would start
