2003 crown vic keyfob only works with ignition in run position .keyless entry and door locks work fine.even tried new keyfob.no change

The keyless entry system consists of the following components:
  • driver door module (DDM)
  • keyless entry transmitter
  • keyless entry keypad
The driver door module (DDM) receives inputs from the digital transmission range (TR) sensor, ignition switch, brake switch, window/door lock switches, lighting control module (LCM), keyless entry keypad switch and remote transmitter. The DDM outputs consists of keyless entry keypad switch illumination, power door lock actuators, luggage compartment release solenoid, horn relay, and lighting control module (LCM).
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuses:
    • circuit breaker 7 (20A)
  • Central junction box (CJB)
    • 4 (10A)

Did you program the new key fob ?

Remote Transmitter Programming NOTE: All remote transmitters are programmable and must be set at the same time.
  1. Turn the key from OFF to RUN four times within three seconds, ending in RUN. The locks will then lock and unlock, confirming program mode has been entered.
  1. Press any button on each remote transmitter to be programmed. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed.
  1. If additonal remote transmitters are to be programmed, repeat Step 3 within 7.5 seconds or steps 2 and 3 if more than 7.5 seconds have elapsed.
  1. To exit program mode, turn the ignition to START or wait 7.5 seconds.
  1. NOTE: Failure to wait at least 20 seconds will cause programming failures. Wait at least 20 seconds after turning the key to OFF or after the last remote transmitter has been programmed to activate a remote transmitter for testing or verification

1995 Jeep Grans Cherokee electric door locks not working when I hit the button they won't work. they make some sort of noise but they don't lock or unlock. only seems to lock the back hatch but...

Well, it is hard to say for sure without some electrical testing. It could be that you need to buy a whole bunch of door lock actuators - especially if you started losing one door lock at a time. If all of the door locks started acting up all at the same time, there is most likely high resistance in one of the door lock main power circuits - like the one that comes from the ignition switch or from the keyless entry module (if equipped).
Then on the other hand, if they LOCK OK, but do not want to UNLOCK (or visa-versa) there could be worn or burned contacts in either the lock relay or the unlock relay (or possibly even BOTH).

Again, some electrical testing should be done to pinpoint the actual cause of the problem before going out and spending a bunch of money on parts.

2007 gmc yukon denali wont unlock w/ keyfob

Check the buttons.. I have an 06 Grand Prix with the Remote starter on the top and it seems that the conductor on the buttons worn out.. Take the keyfob apart, pull the rubber buttons off the chip, lick your finger and touch the place where the unlock (right side of the fob) would be. That should unlock your doors. I just did it with mine. I would just buy another fob on ebay and change the buttons out.. Hope this works

Keyless entry did not work

If I am not mistaken, this is a safety feature. You manually locked the doors which told the computer you could possibly be in danger and someone on the outside has your key. After you unlocked and started the vehicle it reset the mode and that is why it works now without a problem. You can test this by manually locking it again and trying the keyless entry. If it does not work, then unlock and start the vehicle and try again. If it does work have the dealer check it out as it could be the receiver for the keyless system.

Key Pad Entry does not work

does the key pad light when you press a button at night? If yes, the fuse is ok.
Do you have the plastic card with the permanent code in your owner manual packet? If yes, tryit.
report back.

Keyless Entry The keyless entry keypad is hardwired to the GEM. The GEM interprets the inputs from the keyless entry keypad and then controls the associated operation. The keyless entry keypad will be illuminated for five seconds when any button is pressed. Additionally, it will request the illuminated entry feature to turn the courtesy lamps on. If a lock all doors code is entered, the illumination will turn off, as well as request the illuminated entry feature to turn off the courtesy lamps. When pressed, the keyless entry keypad supplies the ground signal to the GEM or the GEM receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter. Then the GEM outputs a ground signal to the appropriate lock or unlock relay which supplies the power to the actuator to lock or unlocks all doors, including the luggage compartment. The keyless entry remote transmitter also unlocks the liftgate or activates the panic alarm by sending a signal to the GEM.
