I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic. Randomly, the turn signal "ticker sound" turns on but the turn signal does not actually turn on. It sticks on so long that the warning bell starts to ring. Sorry for the terminology, I do not know much about cars! Please help me, my car is driving me crazy!

This is a known problem and is caused by a faulty hazard switch. Replace that and your problem will go away.

SOURCE: 2002 Chevy Malibu

I have clicking noises too...I was told depending on what side you hear the clicking on is the side a light is ready to go out. Mine was on the right and sure enough a bulb went out in the passenger tail brake light. I fixed and replaced the bulb and the clicking went away. Later I noticed some corrosion on the wire connecting to the same area the bulb was replaced and shortly after, the bulb went out again and the clicking returned.....
Googling that "symptom" for the 2002 Malibu DOES point towards the hazard swith but it has been told to me and proven in my situation that it can also be a warning that something in the network of the lights and switches has an issue.

SOURCE: 2003 Chevy Malibu. While driving

Kemo68 90% of the time when the turn signal keeps clicking as your driving down the road. Turn signal and hazard switch if located in the dash. The hazard switch & turn signal are on that switch together in dash. $18.00 for switch and dealer will tell you this is a comom thing that happens in the Malibu. That fixed mine the first time.

SOURCE: problems starting

I own a 1998 Chevy Malibu personally, change the ignition switch I had the identical issue, the switch eventually stopped turning completely, my vehicle had to be towed!! Save yourself a headache, I got one from a junkyard for 2.00, but it had to be programmed for the vehicle, I would take it to a trusted shop or dealer.

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic and problem is turn signal goes out

the hazzard switch is together with the turn signals, so if they are not working properly, check hazzard switch. the switch has a built in timer for hazzards and turn signals.

My 2002 chevy malibu's radio seems to be shorting out, the radio will work fine but randomly the sound shuts off the radio still shows the radio station and even says which artist is playing but there...

I'd suggest using the balance and fade controls to cut out each speaker one by one. to possibly determine if you have shorted speaker or speaker wiring. As far as the turn signal clicking noise, the hazard switch is the actual flasher unit for the turn signals, and could be the culprit, but the most likely cause is the turn signal switch itself. It is usually caused by corrosion across the contacts, which can be cleaned out fairly easily, but more typically, the switch is just replaced

I have a 2005 chevy malibu classic and the turn signals stops working when it wants to .

You just lost the flasher, right at the steering coumn from underneath to the rght you see a 3 in x 2 in box that is the flasher. this is common failure with the turn signal

My 2005 chevy malibu classic will not start i have everything checked out also my theft system light is on constantly

all gm vehicles from 97-2005 have a theft system called the passlock system. (how to deactivate system on chevy malibu) turn key on engine off, let it stay on for at least 10 minutes, then turn ignition off, take out key from ignition switch. after 1 minute start the car. you can also go to tubesound.com to disable system for good. --tubesound.com/passlocksystem. ( just type in the problem when page comes up ). have a good day!! vehicle will not start with system blinking. it thinks its being stolen.

2005 Malibu Classic Hazard Module replacement

The hardest part is finding it. With your key on give a left or right turn signal. Try to listen and pinpoint the clicking of the turn signal flasher. Once you locate the turn signal flasher, your hazard flasher will look just like this and should be mounted nearby, typically next to it. The flasher simply pulls out and the new one just pushes in.
