Each zone of the United States has a specific zone number that the compass has to be set with..
It depends where you live...Check dealer or owners manual for zone setting...You should have a reset button at dash area....If you ever change battery you will have to reset compass zone normally.....Zone numbers are all single digit I believe.....I am on east coast...S.East...Which is 8 or 9...pending state...................Hope this helps............Metalpoet..........

What does check compass module means on my 2007 Ford Edge?

It usually means the compass on the vehicle needs recalibrating. That is the thing that tells you are going north or wherever in the mirror. The module is in the back of the mirror. Resetting is usually very easy.

Find an empty car park.
Press the Compass button on the mirror.
Do 3 complete circles left.
Do 3 complete circles right.

How do I find the fuse on an impala 2002 for the.outside temperature and compass

There are two fuses one in the right I/P junction block an one in the left I/P junction block ! The right is marked DK / RKE 10amp fuse. The left is marked A/C / CRUSE 10amp fuse ! I don't think these are the problem ! These fuses supply power to the microprocessor in the driver information center . According to my service information the microprocessor supply's power to the ambient air temperature sensor an to the compass.
This mode displays an 8 point compass heading on the left hand side of the DIC. The compass will display the current vehicle direction relative to one of 8 compass headings using N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, and NW for the readout. The ambient temperature displays on the right hand side of the DIC. If the ambient temperature is below 3?°C (37?°F), the temperature reading will toggle between displaying the outside temperature and the word ICE for two minutes. If the temperature is less than minus 40?°F for more than 2 seconds, OC will display. If the temperature is above 140?°F for more than 2 seconds, SC will be displayed. If OC or SC is displayed DTC's will be set. For compass calibration and compass magnetic variation adjustment refer to Electronic Compass Calibration .

How to do I get the compass and temperature gauge to work in the rear view mirror again. Directions are NW and SE all the time

Calibrate the compass built into the upper-right corner of the rearview mirror by holding the compass button (an "N" with two crossing lines) until your zone number appears. Determine your zone number by looking at the map in the owner's manual. Press the compass button until a "C" appears. Then drive in a circle three times at 5 mph or less in an uncongested area. The compass will automatically orient as a result of the circling.
