You said you repl dist cap that means you don't have a crank sensor you have electronic ing module. remove your elec ing module have it tested most auto parts stores could test your module, or check your coil at the neg terminal. should have power. if not you lost your primary volt from your batt.your secondary power is coming from your electronic ing module from the module to the pos terminal on the coil, when the eng cranks, from the coil to the dist cap , from the dist cap center to the rotor then out to the plugs, this all happen pervided the timing belt or timing chain is ok. the cumbustion chainber needs 3 things , thats fuel, air, and spark.

You said you replaced distributor cap, and rotor,i know this will sound dumb, but did you make sure the rotor button was turned corectly on distributor shaft?
some have a notch in shaft and a coresponding tab on rotor they must line up.
then the rotor will go down in to place and won't move seperatly from shaft,if rotor dosen't turn with shaft you won't get fire to plugs, you can crank engine all day it won't start hope this helps

Have you checked for fire at the plugs? Take one out and ground it to the engine block and have someone turn the motor over and see if the plug is firing. If not then the crank position sensor may not be working. Need to check all points in the ignition for power, if one is not getting power then it won't start. You said it won't crank. Does that mean it won't turn over or it just won't start while cranking?

the timing is 180 degrees out so ignore where no 1 lead should be and rewire the HT leads to the new position for no1 cylinder. The crank timing mark should be on 10 degrees advanced. Engines are timed off the crank position so forget the cam position.
Or you can start again. Remove no 1 plug and turn the engine over until you feel compression under your finger over the plug hole. Set the timing on the crank to 10 degrees before tdc. Position the distributor so that the point of the star is directly opposite the exciter coil in the distributor. The rotor button should now be facing no 1 cylinder plug lead adjust the HT leads so that they will fire in the 1342 firing order. Start the engine and with a timing light attached to no 1 plug lead adjust the timing mark to specifications by turning the body of the distributor.

I would look into replacing the coil even though it is sending spark it might not be enough and I would go through and just double check all my wires as well as the firing order because if it's off just a little it will make the car run rough

No fire thru coil wire

no,the pump wouldn't do that. Pull the dist cap and crank the engine, make sure the rotor spins, may have sheared the pin one the shaft.

I have a 1993 chev pick-up v6 4.3, i just installed new spark plugs, new plug wires, distributor cap and rotor button. All plug wires are back in the right position, and i used the firing order 1-6-5-4-3-2...

This diagram is for 1998-1995 Chevy 6 cylinder 4.3L engines.
Your got the firing order exactly correct, at 1-6-5-4-3-2, but here's the thing to double-check:
The distributor rotation is clockwise (note badly rendered arrow in picture).

Since you probably got everything right, then you're left with really unusual/rare causes of
failure of the ignition system:
(a) rotor button misaligned/failing to make contact?
(b) rotor button not pressed onto distributor shaft far enough therefore failing to provide correct
proximity to distributor cap contacts when coil fires
(c) coil wire or contact loose/disconnected - press coil wire firmly down into distributor cap.
(d) distributor shaft of other damage caused during installation of rotor.
(e) spark plug wires defective from factory
(f) spark plugs defective from factory
(g) battery low - may need a charge to start
(h) ICM (ignition control module) failure - hook up your HEI (high energy ignition) tester, and
watch the quality of the spark on each cylinder.
(i) fuel problem? If spark is being properly delivered, its gotta be a fuel problem...
(j) distributor cap not screwed down flush to top of distributor? maybe just on one side?

Inspect the inside of the distributor cap - if there are lots of little metal bits all over the inside
of the distributor cap, then you know you have a misalignment of some type in there, and the
rotor and cap are destroying each other. normal operation will throw a quota of spark-ed off
metal bits inside the distributor cap, but since your cap is brand new, your attempts to start
the engine should have rotated the distributor so few times, you should see no metal debris.

Inspect the distributor cap contacts to see if any spark marks are more of less in the middle
of the cap's proper "contact zone". If not, you've diagnosed an internal misalignment, which
you know how to correct.

Engine turns over fast, wont fire, has fuel,

Since it don't fire, you need to check your spark plugs/coils, wires, distributor/coil pack, dist.cap, rotor, cam sensor, crank sensor. It may be the computer but that is last possibility. Each one of these effect the fire to the engine. You need to test what you can. It could be anyone of them.

97 Nissan 200sx cranks, won't turn over

If you indeed are getting no spark on any plugs, check your plug wire that runs from the rotor to your ignition coil- the one that doesn't go to the engine. Make sure the internal connections didn't pull out and get crushed back in or fall out. Try one of your other plug wires on it and see if it fires- won't run good but you will see difference and be done troubleshooting. Other than that, you bought the rotor button and and rotor as a set right? Make sure the button metal tip is contacting the cap. If you got the wrong one, it may sit too low for the contacts even if it is long enuff. If you were getting spark, I would just say you got the firing order wrong.
