I have a 97 grand cherokee laredo, replaced throttle sensor, crank positioning sensor 2X, dist.,coil , cat. convertor, spark plug + wires, starter and oil change. Jeep is extremely hard to start most of the time, cranks but just does not start, sometimes it will start and not go over 10 MPH, then it can start no problem. Diagnostic machine still says it is my crank positioning sensor. The jeep backfires ALOT. It putters at stops as it wants to die then jolts as it picks up to speed.

You did reset your timing after all te new parts correct? If not start there. Also if it still give the crank postistioning sensr as your error then you may have it pluged in wrong(i know, i know! Ive seen it happen though), or perhaps there is a problem with that circut and your ECM. But i do think you have first off.

Service engine light flashs when accelerating to speed over 65mph.

Flashing check engine light means that the catalysator can be damaged. There is most probably something wrong with the O2 sensor(s). Did you check for any fault code set in the PCM?

97 GC 4.0 starts right up , runs fine for about 10 seconds then it goes into misfire mode. I have replaced the crank sensor, pickup coil in dist, 2 sets of wires ,2 sets of plugs, new dist cap , rotor...

Well, aside from the O2 sensors, the throttle position sensor and temp sensor, looks very much like you have a totally new system there.
I assume you got codes for all those item from a system scan?
I suggest that you "ring out" the wiring harness and check every fuse in the engine compartment and in the passenger compartment. If you have continuity and no cross over in the wiring, pretty good chance that the engine computer is bad.
One thing...your fuel pressure seems to be a bit high...I didn't look it up but I'd expect it to be around 35psi to possibly 40? Do the plugs come out clean or black?

I have a 97 jeep grand cherokee laredo and it is back firing out of the throttle body like it's not getting enough gas. Could you help me out.

Check all the vacuum hoses on the intake manifold for a leak. Replace all broken and cracked lines. Check from the coil to spark plug wires with an inline spark tester for fire. Check the spark plugs for fouling and cracked terminals. Inspect the spark plug wires for worn or cracks. If you can check the fuel pressure to the throttle body. Also look at the air filter. Hope this will help you.

You say you changed the cam sensor. A1391 code is a crank sensor on the top of the trans. bell housing.
