You will need two persons, one to pop the release and the other to pry the door open, once the door is open spray with a lubricate, then test, it should fix the problem. Tim

Trying to open the fuel door

I don't have a KIA but my car's auto fuel accesss door can be manually released from the trunk. Open the trunk and pull down the inside panel on the side of the fuel access door. My car has a green pull cable that will release the door. Try and find it. They must have provided a manual release for situations like that. G

1999 cadi fuel dor will not open

    Hello,

when you pull the fuel door from inside, there is a hook that releases that makes the fuel door opens. Its is possible that the hook is not releasing, that's why the door won't open.

At this point, you will have to manually open the fuel door with a flat screw driver. Ask someone to put the fuel door control from inside the car, while you deep a flat screw driver to release/free the door.

This should open the fuel door. After the fuel door is opened, you can check the hook and see why its not responding.

    Good luck.

MY LATCH INSIDE MY HYUNDAI WON'T OPEN MY GAS TANK

My '03 has had the same problem. It's usually due to an obstruction on the fuel door itself. You'll need 2 people to fix it. The first person pulls the fuel door release lever and holds it in the up position. The second person taps on the fuel door until it pops open. If it doesn't open, then get a flat-head screw driver and *gently* pry it open.

If it still won't open, then maybe you have a broken fuel door release cable.

My Volvo S60 Fuel flap won't lock or unlock,

The pin solenoid that activates the remote locking is not receiving any electrical signal, it must have been unhooked. This solenoid is right by the filler door, inside the boot. The alarm activates on electrical differences, such as dome light, boot light or filler door electrical demand when it is activated. Hence, the alarm wont trip off if door is opened manually from the outside.

I can't get the door open to my gas tank. 2005 Honda Civic Hybri

In virtually all cars there is an emergency release mechanism located inside of the trunk. It's either a pull cord, or a means of twisting the release cable to remove the plunger from inside the fuel tank door. Look inside your trunk, pull back the liner if necessary, or feel around where the cable leads to the fuel tank door.

Once you diagnose the problem you will then know whether or not you will need to replace the release cable.

Fuel tank door release, 2004 Honda Civic

The release cable is sticking or broken. To release the fuel door, open the trunk and pull off the fabric liner on the left side of the trunk. Behind this liner is the fuel door release cable; this cable leads to the fuel door and attaches with a twist-lock connector. It is cylindrical with two tabs. Twist the connector clockwise about 90 degrees and it should pull out, releasing the door.

Just remember, the fuel door will not stay closed until you put the connector back in.
