WONT GO PAST 3000 RPM runs smoth otherwise & mpg off bad

If your standing still in park it wont rev past 3000 rpm as its got a limiter on it And only revs past 3000 rpm in drive on the move.

It's probably in limp home mode. Check RPM dial most likely wont go past 2500-3000 RPM in any gear. This is for safety when the ECU find's almost any fault it will cut the engine to save damage. Get the ECU checked for fault's fix reset and it should run properly

rpm sensor bad this keeps the car from over tacking.

you must reset the ignition timing to manufacter specification. Otherwise you must RUN the scanner/computer for easy diagnostic and fix it. You can faulty: ignition coil+sensor+PCM+BCM+wires spark+sparkplugs,etc see the diagram attached.

The # 4 piston is on the passenger side last one to the firewall. Your getting a misfire past 3000 RPM and the engine is detecting the knock and is powering down so you wont hurt the engine any more then it is. If there is an Auto Zone around your area, have them scan the truck for any DTC codes free of charge. This should help us address the issues so we can get your F150 running 100% again soon. it sound like your tps is going out

Sounds like you have no Torque converter lock up function. The wiring connector for T/C lockup solenoid must have been disturbed or the solenoid is bad. No lock up will make a 200 RPM difference in high gear

Was the vehicle a previously rental vehicle? because if it was there is probably a speed govenor on it or a rpm govenor on it most likely a speed govenor if a previous rental vehicle
