I am replacinng the factory stereo with a JVC unit. The harness for the original has two orange wires, one plain the other with a black stripe, and the JVC one doesn't. What are these for and are they important to the installation? I am har wiring from the factory harness to the supplied JVC harness. Thanks

The orange wire in the #8 cavity is your key on power wire, so yes you need it the yellow wire in the #1 cavity is the 12 volt alwise wire so you need it as well the orange wire in the #10 cavity is the right rear speaker wire + you also need it hear is the wire list.

wire #1. yellow 12 power with key on

wire #2. gray interior lights

wire #3. green right rear speaker -

wire #4. red right front speaker +

wire #5 black left front speaker -

wire #6 brown left rear speaker -

wire #7 gray power antenna

wire #8 orange 12 volt power hot all times

wire #9 pink interior lights

wire #10 orange right front speaker +

wire#11 blue right front speaker + ( door )

Im trying to wire my radio but i cant find a diagram what color is the hot wire and what colors are the speaker wires

Hi, use the white (orange stripe) accessory wire to power the radio. The red (black stripe) wire is the hot lead used to maintain clock and preset stations for the head unit. The complete factory harness color code is below. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Which 2 wiers are the power wiers to the car radio

These color codes are for the factory radio harness. there are 3 +power wires if you have a pwr antenna, this wire is pink. The ign/acc +pwr. wire is blue with black stripe, the radio memory +pwr.
wire is orange with a black stripe. Hope this helps.
