Could someone please exsplain this small little problem to me Thankyou Im trying to figure out the fireing order on my 305 chevy engine they give me the fireing order of the plugs but not the dis trib

You need to start by turning the crankshaft pulley to TDC (top Dead Centre) There should be an alignment mark on there for reference. Once you have this, then remove the distributor cap and refer to the position of the rotor arm. It is pointing to number 1 plug lead (number 1 cylinder). You can start from that reference and hook up No.1 plug lead. Then, as your rotor arm turns clockwise, it should hit the following cylinders in this sequence: 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2.


1,3,5,7 refers to the left bank and 2,4,6,8 refers to the right bank.

Hi, my ford f350 was running rough so i put a new set of points in because the points were burnt.I put it al back together and it is back fireing, cannot remember which side number one is on. I think it is...

#1Cly.is on passenger side.firing order is counter clockwise on dis. 13726548 with from factory #1 on dis. cap is drivers side just left of center rear of cap .bird eye looking 4four we-rd 7 o'clock i think you were rite if you were looking from in front of the car

Took cap off what wire goes where on dis cap

I think the firing order is 1-3-4-2. The intake might or might not be marked which cylinder is which. Hope this helps

face the dis towards #1 and mak sure u dont break the pick up coil in the distributer
