Some vehicles don't run well with the platinum plugs. It will cause the engine to misfire and skip. I would go back with the OEM or a step above unless your car came with platinum plugs which is doubtful. The plugs may be firing off correct when cold but as the engine warms and more friction is there the plugs may be doing more bad because it's not firing correct from the plug being warm. It sounds strange but I work for BOSCH and there are alot of things that don't seem normal to someone that's not involved in making these parts and seeing the everyday test and use. Good Luck. Let me know what you find out and what works.

My Mitsubishi Pajero 3500 petrol model 2000, its not going over 100km & 3000 RPM, gives black smoke. Changed plug coils, changed MAF sensor, Changed the GDI fuel pump, but the problem still persist

Symptoms seem to show the engine is running rich, like the choke is on in a carb system. It could only mean it's hard to start after warm up and the plugs are always wet with fuel. This is normally cared for by the computer. When first started, computer places the engine into a "cold start" mode, raising the idle and giving it more fuel into the cylinders until engine is warm. Then the computer tells the engine to go to normal "run" mode and all is well. Now, if the temperature sending unit/sensor cannot tell the computer the engine is warm because it is faulty, stuck in a closed position, the computer doesn't get this message because it doesn't get sent out. I feel that if you replace the said sending unit/sensor, you will see that the black smoke/unburnt fuel has stopped after warm-up. Then all is well in Pajerotown.

98 mitsubishi chariot grandis gdi, making funny buzzing noise then engine stalls

Sounds like a high voltage ark through either through a crack in the distributor, or through a crack in the wires to it or near one of the spark plug boots. It probably will be visible as a blue spark at night. Otherwise you might just replace the cap and wires!

On a cold start my 2002 estate 2.4 gdi missfires.

Since you vehicle is 7 years old. The temperature is due for a change.

the temp sensor give the exact engine block temperature information to the computer (ECU).

An old sensor or sensor giving incorrect temp to the ECU will cause this problem.

The correct term is call close loop. When the engine at start up the computer will only count on the temp sensor to report temp.

When temp is reaching 195F,the mode change to open loop. All sensors comes into play and at the point the fuel inject will scale down for the warm up state.

Running rich condition can be cause by an old temp. sensor.

Change the sensor and the RICH condition after warm up will go away.

97 Mitsubishi legnum, runs great but takes a bit to start, thought it might be fuel pump relay as you can,t hear pump start when key is turned on, is that normal for legnums.

Hi,
is your car a GDI engine? If it is GDI you can't really hear the pump working when you put ign on.
Give me some details and I might be able to guide you there.
Chassis, engine numbers, GDI ??
