The ECM on this car will shut down the injector driver circuit if one of the six injectors has a coil out of tolerance. (Shorted coil or resistance out of parameters) Quick check. Unplug two wire cap to injector one at a time. (hold/push wire clip inwards then gently wiggle/lift cap off---careful with wires) With one unplugged try starting. If no start- plug back and use same procedure on next injector and so on.........In most cases if bad injector coil the engine will start when it is located. Replace injector. Some say the ECM shuts dirver circuit down to prevent further damage to switching circuit.

1989 Cutlass Ciera 3.3l Stalls, will not idle

if dies immediately when u put it in drive then whats happening is the torque convertor on transmission is lock and need to unplug the electric connector on the transmission cause that's all it controls, if dies in park u most likely its Idle air control valve on your throttle body, if it does it when fully warm ur injectors cause that .... just try to clean idle air control valve first and unplug transmission connector first u should be running better

My 95 olds cutlass ciera will start up and run for about 5 minutes, then start sputtering like it aint getting no gas, slow down then die till it cools off then starts back up, putting again, losing speed...

Check spark at spark plug using a spark tester and fuel pressure at the rail when it acts up. If the pressure is ok at the rail, but the injectors aren't firing, that can point to a bad computer. If the fuel pressure is present but the spark is not being supplied to spark plug wires to spark plugs, then an ignition module might be in need of replacement (the metal plate the coil packs sit on). If the engine has a service engine soon light before it dies, maybe check the codes that should be stored in the computer using an OBD-I scanner.

Change the fuel filter and if it continues then check fuel pressure at the shrader valve on the fuel rail. It also could be a bad low side coil. Is the check engine light on when it's running? Get the codes pulled.

My 1991 oldsmobile cutlass ciera won't start. Tried jump starting it and nothing. The starter cranks over but it just won't start. Don't know what to do now?

check to see if any spark on a plug from either cylinder if you do then check for fuel if no spark and lots of gas the tips of your plugs will be wet so you then know you got a coil or module problem or if no gas could be a relay or fuel pump just have to check it out .

1988 oldsmobile cutlass ciera check engine light on then stalled.

Wow! thats verry low miles for an 88. Check the fuel pressure at the injector. If the pressure is low the filter could be clogged or the pump is not putting out enough pressure. Replace both if the pressure is not up to par. also check the fuel relays.
