The most common cause of this is leaking air suspension bags (also called air springs).

What gear do you suppose to be in while riding on the freeway because the rpm are rising when I hit the gas

your question is a little misleading. Are you driving a 5 or 6 speed manual transmission or an automatic. never the less, wjen you step on the gas, your rpms will rise. how high are they and what gear are you in?

WHAT CAUSES LOUD GRINDING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO CRANK MY 1990 FORD F150 WHEN IN PARK?

Check and make sure the bell housing on the transmission isn't broke and trying to separate from the engine. Shifter shouldn't move while cranking unless transmission itself is moving.

I have a 2010 colbalt with 50k on it and all of a sudden it is giving me problems starting and will stall occasionaly when comming to a stop, the other day it even said my trunk was open so i got out and...

The trunk ajar switch is probably bad ,this is a signal to the BCM - body control module . The control module sends a message to DIC - driver info. center telling it to display this massage. Stalling problem could be as simple as a dirty throttle plate . Your vehicle has electronic throttle control ,computer controlled ! What kind of starting problems ? Long crank time ,no crank etc... Should explain these a little . No crank -when you turn the key nothing happens . Long crank time - you turn the key to start an the engine spins & spins for a long time before the engine starts .

What is the normal operation of the 04 navigator air suspension? i don't have a manual. should the vehicle drop when i stop and raise when i crank it...how's it work if all is good?

As a Past owner of several "air rides" that is how they work. Also when you put it into 4x4 on some models the vehicle will raise another 1-2 inches.

On any model with the air ride you need to remember that the height of the vehicle is usually higher after driving. This means after parking over a curb bumper or a sidewalk, the bottom will rub unless you give the car time to rise.

The system is more useful when hauling a trailer or carrying heavy loads as it will level the vehicle automatically.
