The turn signal switch or in Ford terms "multi-function" switch is easy to replace if you are mechanically inclined. Lower the steering column "tilt" adjustment for easier access. Remove the lower panel (below the steering column). Remove the three screws from the plastic column covers that surround the multi-function switch. Turn the key to the run position, then from the bottom side of the column, use a very small pocket screwdriver, allen wrench or similiar tool to push up on the ignition cylinder release pin. The hole is located just below the cylinder. With the pin pushed, pull out on the key and cylinder. Next seperate the two cover halves and you will see the complete multi-function switch. remove the two attaching screws, remove the electrical connectors and replace the switch. Replace all removed components and you're done! You can purchase the switch at most auto parts stores, ford dealers or ebay. Feel free to ask if more information is needed and I appreciate a vote of four thumbs up. Good luck!

Wipers stop in the middle of my wishield, will not park properly

Sorry , no adjustment .
Wiper/Washer System Components
The Wiper / Washer System consists of the following components:
• Windshield wiper / washer switch
• Windshield wiper system module / motor
• Windshield washer fluid pump
• Windshield washer fluid level switch
• WPR 25A fuse
Wiper / Washer System Operation
The windshield wiper motor module is part of the windshield wiper motor cover and controls the wiper motor operation. The windshield wiper motor is a 2 speed motor. Windshield wiper DELAY operation is a low speed wiper motor function with a variable delay interval between the wipe cycles. The DELAY interval is controlled through a series of resistors within the wiper / washer switch.
Park Position Operation
When the windshield wiper / washer switch is turned to the OFF position while the wiper motor is somewhere in mid-cycle, the wiper motor module will continue to operate the wiper motor until the wipers reach the park position. If the ignition is turned off while the wipers are in mid-cycle, the wipers will stop immediately where they are. The wipers will park the next time the ignition is cycled to the ON position.

Turn signal switch repair

The steering column wheel has 2 pins pushed into the back side of it and as you turn the steering wheel making a turn, the pins slide over the humps of the blinker signal. As you return the wheel back to center to drive straight, these pins then hit the humps in the turn signal and push the turn signal back to the original position. It sounds like one of these pins fell out or broke off. You need to pull steering wheel and check to see if these pins are still inserted on the back side of the steering wheel.

My turn signal handle broke which controls windshield wipers too. How to fix?

buy a used multi-function switch for your car. these can be found on eBay and at junkyards/recyclers.
most likely any mid-90s GM will have the same switch. cost used about 20 bucks, new about 200 so find a used one as your car is only worth 500 bucks!

you are going to need someone who knows what they are doing to replace it as it sits under the airbag under the steering wheel. a body shop may well be cheaper than a dealer for that labor cost.

My mom broke the windshield wiper handle off trying to turn off my wipers because they wouldn't turn off and now I have to hold down the handle to keep my wipers on. What can I dod to fix this?

The windshield wiper/washer functions are incorporated into
a switch on the right side of the steering column. If the switch
is broken, you will need a repair manual to replace it or have
Honda take care of it.

I can't get my windshield wipers to turn off, any suggestions?

The problem may be the windshield wiper switch on the steering wheel. My switch broke when I turned on my windshield washer fluid. It remain in the down position. All I did was put a peice of folded paper underneath the wiper switch to hold it in the up postion. That should keep them from coming on until you replace the whole wiper switch.

Turn signal handle broke off and is hanging by wires

You can buy the turn signal switch at Napa or other auto parts stores. It's a combination switch. Remove the steering wheel and remove the 2 screws that hold the turn signal switch on, unplug the wires and installation is reverse of removal.

I'm having trouble changing my turn signal switch can you help me

Changing the turn signal switch is a fairly involved process. You'll need to disable and remove the driver's side airbag, the steering wheel, and the SIR coil in the steering column. You'll need a steering wheel puller and a lock plate compressor, in addition to the normal assortment of sockets, screwdrivers and Torx drivers. Autozone has detailed instructions for disabling the airbag, removing the steering wheel, and replacing the switch on their web site. I printed their directions and several of the diagrams and was able to replace the switch without any major problems.

Be prepared to spend some time on this--even the simplest steps can take more time that you expect. Case in point: Step 1--disconnect the negative battery terminal. To do this on my 96 Cutlass required removing a cross member under the hood and the windshield washer reservoir.

Good luck!
