HI;

I AM A CHRYSLER PARTS/SERVICE MANAGER AND HAVE SEEN THESE TURBOS BLOW INTAKE TO PLENUM GASKETS. WE ARE A SMALL DEALER AND HAVE SEEN 3 HAPPEN AND ALSO WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO DIAGNOSE. WE WERE ABOUT TO PULL THE HEAD ON ONE WHEN WE FOUND THE GASKET SUCKED IN. PART IS CHEAP AND REPAIR NOT TERRIBLE .HAVE YOUR TECH SPRAY CLEANER AROUND SEAM BETWEEN INTAKE AND PLENUM ENGINE SHOULD DIE DOWN WHEN YOU HIT THE LEAK

SOURCE: My 2003 PT cruiser's engine light came on, then

Find your air mass flow sensor in the stiff collar of the air ducting immediately after the air filter. Have the engine running and disconnect the plug to the MAF. If this makes the car run evenly again you need to replace the broken MAF. The misfire on plug 4 I think is a downstream event of the MAF not sending the right info to the ECU and consequently not providing the right fuel / air mix to the engine

SOURCE: engine dies in stop and

1999 300M 150,000 Miles

Car dies when coming off acceleration or at idle in traffic or at a stop. I can watch the Tach go to 0 RPM, some times it will restart immediately other times it is hard to start, so far I have always been able to re-start it and Drive on. Does anybody have verified fix for this issue, I have seen posts saying can and crank sensor, throttle body, EGR, and many more ideas... Do not really want to just start replacing parts with the hope that I eventually get a fix. Help...

SOURCE: Hi, My '04 'misses' when

hey,it's against fixya.com policy for me to contact you directly, but i will try to assist you. lets do this by the numbers. bought fuel lately? suspect bad fuel? add clear, clear, rubbing alcohol to your gas tank and this will dry up any water in the gas tank and it will not harm your engine at all. if you do not suspect bad fuel purchase, then, maybe clogging fuel injectors in the engine. remedy, local parts store, autozone, advance auto parts, purchase lucas fuel injector treatment{cleaner] just add it to your fuel tank.follow the instructions on the bottle, after 25to50miles,you should see a difference in the engine.but just to diagnose for you without hearing the engine, sounds like a clogged fuel injector or misfire of sparkplugs, but you've already replaced the plugs,so fuel injectors is my diagnosis.thank you for choosing fixya.com

02 Toyota echo engine revs up brakes harden fail to engage idling at 40 mph

seems , but can not understand that post lacking periods.
the booster is cracked and sucking vaccum to the engine
..
the brake poster is vacuum powered
but must not leak if does leak the causes and illegall air flow
to the engine main air supply and causes engines to race fast RPM at idle.
now you know why.
even the hose to it can be bad or fell off.
but i bet the booster diaphragm inside is cracked.
the service manual shows the leak down test on boosters all do
.and if it leaks it is bad.
end story.

I have a 2002 vw gti golf with a 1.8T engine. We had it stall out on us at a stoplight so we took it in and they replaced the vacuum lines and said the problem was fixed. It's not it continues to stall...

simple test
start the engine and let idle
if idles ok , then put you foot on the brake
if it stalls ---replace the faulty brake booster
as with all faults in a cars
have the fault codes read first to avoid unnecessary waste of time and cash

My rpm is accelerating high when i step on brakes

sounds like you have a vaccum air leak in your power brake booster. you need to check the vaccum air lines going to your brake booster, the booster is located behind your brake master cylinder it is the large round tank right behind your brake master cylinder,,the booster itself has i diaphram inside it, every time you press on the brakes you are loosing vauccum with then causes your idle to increase..you will have to change out the booster as a complete unit...they cost about $100-$150 for a rebuilt one at autozone go to the store or the website to see what the part looks like....

My camaro keeps turning off. Alternator has been checked and has passed three test at different auto zones. The tensioner has been replaced, new belts were put on. Don't know why it turns off when I brake....

Hi. Power brake booster can have a big vaccum leak. does it stall in park just idling and then put on the brake. Vaccum leak is to be looked for. If you have to be driving and then brake and it stalls it may be staying in lock up.

I have just replaced the alternator on a 1995 s10 with the 2.2l. Now when I press the brake pedal the engine idles extremly high and the brakes need to be pumped before the truck will stop. I have checked...

Your brake booster may have a vaccum leak, Pull and plug the booster vac line and plug to see if your problem goes away, Note you will not have power Brakes, and vec should not be driven will booster not connected....

Engine pulsates during idle and from second to third gear

Try checking for vaccum leaks, use carb cleaner and spray it around the base of carb, vaccum hoses, edges of intake manifold, take pliers and squeeze the big line to brake power booster & see if it changes, pull the pcv valve out and cover with your finger see if it changes idle.

Very high idle

probably is brake booster if you can hear hissing sound, would not advise disconnecting hose, would be extremely hard to stop the vehicle, a dangerous situation. also check for vaccum leaks on intake manifold. follow brake booster hose to engine and check for leak from there

1984 Honda Accord Brake Problem

well aside from the boosters you may also want to check the possitioning rotor and calipers. there is a possibility that something slipped, or leaked, check for brake fluids and try to trace where it is comming from.

the picture below shows how to disassemble the brakes of an Accord, the only special tool you will need is a ball joint fork to seperate the upper and lower ball joints. You have to remove the whole steering knuckle assembly to get to the bolts in back of the rotor and hub assembly.
